Things are looking very bleak to say the least for the Philadelphia Flyers.
They have dug themselves a 3-0 hole and look to somehow scratch and claw back into this series with a win here in Game 4 on Wednesday night.
Washington Capitals
The Capitals were the best team in the regular season with rather ease this season and they’ve showed no signs of letting up through the first three games of this series.
The Caps have absolutely dismantled the Flyers and they come in after embarrassing them on their home ice 6-1 in Game 3. Washington has been using the powerplay to their advantage, as they tallied 5 PP goals in the Game 3 victory.

The only team that seems like they can beat Washington is themselves. In practice on Tuesday, star G Braden Holtby collied with a teammate and was helped off the ice with a leg injury. Holtby was okay after practice and assured the media he would play.
One player who won’t be seen in Game 4 is Brooks Orpik. He will sit out after getting a cheap shot to the head in the 3rd period of Game 3. His injury is ruled as an upper body and he will be reevaluated after Wednesday.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers finished the season on a 15-5-3 run and it looked like this would be a tough team to deal with come in the postseason.
However, the Flyers sat in awe and disbelief with about 2 minutes left in the 3rd period of Game 3 as they saw the Capitals lead 6-1 and take absolute control of the series.

The Flyers, unlike their competition, have failed miserably on the powerplay. Philadelphia is 0 for 13 through the first 3 contests on the PP.
The goalie situation is also very bleak for the Flyers. Steve Mason allowed all 6 goals in Game 3, granted 5 were when Philadelphia was shorthanded. The starter for Wednesday is still unannounced and will be determined during open skate before the game.
