Have these teams done enough to warrant selection by the committee. One can probably help themselves a lot on Saturday.
In case you weren’t sure that on would be Vandy. They beat Kentucky at home and can tie A&M atop the standings this week on the road (pending what UK does).
The Aggies can guarantee at least a share of the regular season title with a win. Lots at stake in this one.
The Commodores have won four in a row and are looking to close strong with a win at Texas A&M. If they get it how they do in the SEC Tournament might not matter.
Not only have they been winning but they have been dominating. All four of those wins have been by at least 12 points. People though highly of Vandy coming into the season and it seems like they have finally hit their stride.
They could even get better because I think it is fair to say that Damian Jones has not been the player we thought he would be. Averaging 14 and 7 in a major conference is nothing to sneeze at but those numbers are pretty much the same as last year.
Vandy has one of the top shooters in the country in Matthew Fisher-Davis. He might not look like much but he can knock them down. He scored 20 against the Wildcats.
The Commodores have really struggled on the road this season. This is a big spot to show they can compete.
Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies shook off their midseason doldrums are are closing on a roll having won five in a row. They have only lost once at home this season.
A&M might have the best set of wings in the country in Danuel House and Jalen Jones. Both are lean, 6’7″/6’8″ averaging 15ppg. Jones is the team’s leading rebounder too.
They also have a rare true center in Tyler Davis. He will make it tough for Jones down low and has put up good numbers for a freshman – 11 & 6. He is not terrible from the line either – 64%
Texas A&M is one of the best defensive teams in the country and they held Vandy to just 60 points when they met a month ago in an easy win by the Aggies.
They have probably done enough already but holding serve at home to close the season will increase the comfort level.

Free Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Texas A&M Aggies CBB Prediction:
Vandy is a tough veteran group. They could win this one on the road but I am not counting on it.
Texas A&M should be able to dictate tempo at home with their defense and the excitement around final home game.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: No line currently listed.
The combo of House and Jones has been getting it done all season long. No reason to expect otherwise in this one.
