Hi there and welcome to CappersPicks.com and our daily free sports picks for Friday February 28th 2020.
We have 40 of the best handicappers in the world on our site and each day quite a few of them provide free 5* plays to our customers.
The Free Sports Picks For Friday February 28th 2020 on this page are the lowest rated selections from each capper for today.
Every capper generally has “other” plays that they like but just don’t release to their clients. These are those Free Sports Picks For Friday February 28th 2020.
1-Day Pass $59, 3-Day Pass $99, 7-Day Pass $174, 1-Month Pass $349. No Game of the month, game of the year, game of the decade mumbojumbo, just winning selections. That 1-month pass gets you EVERY single pick I release for one month. So do the Math. Why are you paying $34.95 for a single pick when you can pay $349.95 and get what would at a minimum 80 picks in a month. 80x $34.95 = $2700… again..all I’m saying is do the math.
All our picks and predictions are 100% Documented, Verified and Monitored by a 3rd party handicapping service. We don’t fudge the numbers, (Check out our leaderboards!) and as soon as a game starts you can find the full write-up and pick by the capper of your choice on his sales page to show you.
We DO NOT say we’ve won a game if we haven’t like so many 1000’s of cappers are doing out there the proof is in our betting trends. This website wouldn’t be online since 2006 if we were scamming our customers like so many of the other come and go sites are…so surf on over to our Handicappers page today and check us out, and ENJOY these Free Sports Picks For Friday February 28th 2020, hopefully you follow some of them, and they hit for you.
Remember our season subs make the most $$ off of our selections, if you want to just be a “daily bettor” we’ll do what we can to provide you winners but these FREE sports picks are not our PREMIUM plays, and you have to remember that.
Below are our Free Sports Picks For Friday February 28th 2020.

Northwestern (+) over Minnesota 9:00 ET
Wildcats (+) over Golden Gophers- This 'price' seems a bit short to me as the Golden Gophers can only win at home going 13-2 SU (9-5-1 ATS) while Northwestern has struggled on the road going 1-8 SU (4-5 ATS) and have now lost 13 straight. Minnesota who is 0-8 SU on the road and 13-2 at home going 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games but have lost their last three overall. The best I can say for the Wildcats is that the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings...take NORTHWESTERN
Dave's Thursday Free Play:
1* on Utah +1.5
The Key: I like the situation for the Utah Utes tonight. They have played their last 4 games on the road. But the Utes are back home where they were last seen upsetting Arizona 73-58 as 1.5-point underdogs. They will be hungry to avenge a tough 70-72 road loss at UCLA in their first matchup this year. It's a UCLA team that has struggled lately in going 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. They lost outright to Washington State and by 18 to USC. They only beat Oregon State by 5, Washington by 3 and Arizona State by 1 recently so they are struggling against the bottom feeders of the conference. The Bruins are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games. UCLA is 15-35-1 ATS in its last 51 games as a road favorite. The Utes are 55-27-3 ATS in their last 85 home games against a team with a losing road record. Utah is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games against a team that wins more than 60% of their games on the season. The home team is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 matchups. Take Utah.

PICK - Iowa/MIchigan OVER 155
Two of the nations best offensive teams in the country will square off tonight, as the No. 9 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes visit the No. 3 ranked Michigan Wolverines. I'm not interested in the spread in this one. My money is on the OVER 155.
Both of these teams rank in the Top 10 in the nation in offensive efficiency at KenPom. Iowa is No. 1 and Michigan is No. 6. The Hawkeyes come in averaging 86.4 ppg on 48% shooting from the field and 40.3% from deep. Michigan is scoring 79.2 ppg on 50.2% shooting from the field and 39% from deep.
Just so happens the Wolverines last game was against Ohio State, who is No. 3 in offensive efficiency. A lot of people thought that was going to be low scoring and the total for that game was just 144. The two combined for 179 points in Michigan's 92-87 win.
I think we are going to see a similar offensive outburst in this one. Just look at the two meetings last year, the two combined for 194 points in the game at Michigan (total of 144) and 173 at Iowa (total 147).
OVER is 7-3 in Michigan's last 10 games vs a team with ai inning record. It's also 17-8-1 in Iowa's last 26 as a road dog and 13-5 in their last 18 on the road vs a team that's won more than 60% of their home games. Give me the OVER 155!

This is a free play on Under.
It's almost March, and at this time of year we expect to see more emphasis on defense. Historically that has been the case when these two teams have faced each other late in the season. The last two meetings went over the total, but both of those games were played much earlier in the season. The previous four meeting were in February or March, and all four of those games went under. These teams are both playing great defense, each allowing roughly 65 points per game over their last five overall. Iowa has gone under in five straight overall, and the under is 6-2 in Michigan's last eight overall.
The set-up: It's safe to say that these two teams don't like each other. As long as Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are playing, then these two teams will always be considered the most fiercist of rivals. These teams played here two nights ago and the Pens won 3-2 in OT. I'm expecting a more wide-open contest here though and I look for this total to eclipse the posted number sooner, rather than later. Pittsburgh has won three straight. The Pens average 3.00 GPG and they allow 3.24.
The pick: The Capitals average 3.28 GPG, but they concede 3.39. A faster-paced game = more shots and more shots = more goals. Consider the "over" in this East Division matchup.
This is a 1* FREE PLAY on the Pens/Capitals OVER.
Jack's Free Pick Thursday: Colorado -3
The Colorado Buffaloes have played their last four games on the road and will be very happy to be back home tonight. They still have a shot to win the Pac-12 and catch USC, but they must beat the Trojans tonight to stay alive. Look for them to be highly motivated for a win because of it.
The Buffaloes have had one of the biggest home/road splits in college basketball for years. That has been the case again this season as they are 8-1 at home this season and outscoring opponents by an average of 18.7 points per game. They are just 6-6 in true road games, but one of those road wins came at USC 72-62 in their first meeting this season.
USC comes in overvalued off its 72-58 win over Oregon in which the Trojans made 10-of-21 from 3-point range. They played that game without their best player in Evan Mobley (16.8 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.0 BPG) and were still able to win because they shot so well from deep. Oregon also had an off night offensively shooting just 40% for the game while making only five free throws.
Mobley is questionable to play tonight, and don't be surprised to see the Trojans sit him again as this will be their 4th game in 9 days. It will be just the 4th game in 12 days for the Buffaloes. Colorado owns USC in going 5-0 SU & 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. The Buffaloes are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as home favorites. Bet Colorado Thursday.

1* Free Pick on Weber State -6 -110
All plays are made using sophisticated machine learning models.
1* NBA - Kings/Knicks *FREE PICK* on Knicks -1.5
Today's free pick is on the New York Knicks -1.5 at home against the Sacramento Kings. I just can't pass up a play on the Knicks at basically a pick'em at home. Sacramento is playing their worst basketball of the season right now. The Kings have lost 8 straight and it's hard for me to see them snapping out of their funk on the road, especially after just playing their hearts out against Brooklyn on Tuesday. Knicks are built to win games with their defense, but they should also be able to score here against an awful Sacramento defense. Kings have allowed 8 straight opponents to shoot 49% or better from the field and have allowed all 8 teams to score at least 118 points. Bet the Knicks -1.5!

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Dallas Mavericks +5
The Dallas Mavericks are 6-1 SU in their last seven games overall with their only loss coming by 3 points to the Portland Trail Blazers. They are now 5-point underdogs to the 76ers which is their largest underdog role since being 8-point dogs at Milwaukee on January 15th in a game they lost by just 3 points. It is their third-largest underdog role of the entire season. And it doesn't make sense coming against a struggling 76ers team that is 3-4 SU & 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Mavericks have won three straight meetings with the 76ers by a combined 57 points. Dallas is also 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. Give me the Mavericks.

Thursday card led by the NCAAB Ohio Valley Perfect System play of the Year, a 23-4 NHL Power System Play, an Early Europa League Soccer Dominator and NBA. Comp play below.
The NBA Power Play is on the LA. Clippers at 8>05 eastern. The winning team in this series is on a 16-1 spread run. Tonight they fit an 83% system that plays on rested road favorites of 5 or more that scored 120 or more and covered as a 10 point home favorite vs a team off a road game. The Clippers have covered 5 straight on Thursdays, the last 4 vs losing teams and 21 of 29 on the road. Memphis has failed to cover 6 of 7 as a dog. Look for the Clippers to take this one. On Thursday a big card is up with the Ohio Valley Conference Game of the year headlining along with a 23-4 NHL Power system play, NBA and an Early TOP level Europa League Soccer play. For the NBA Comp play. Play on the LA. Clippers. Rob V- GC Sports
Free Play from Doc’s Sports. Take #747 Nebraska Cornhuskers over Illinois Fighting Illini (7p.m., Thursday, February 25 BTN) The Illini are one of the best teams in the country, but this will be a monumental task for them having to play three games in 5 days with 2 of them being true road games. They will be a huge favorite in this game, and this will be looking ahead to playing Wisconsin on Saturday. This is a classic sandwich game situation and expect them to just go through the motions and win the game but not cover the spread. Nebraska is getting a little better as the season is coming to an end and they will be able to prevent a blowout in this game. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card featuring plays in basketball, hockey, FCS Football, and NASCAR. Jump on board now and let 49 years of handicapping experience work for you.
Canucks are offering very fair value as home underdogs here. Yes, the Oilers have won four in a row. They're a money-burning 74-95 (-32.4) over the years, when off three or more consecutive victories though. That includes a 5-10 (-5.6) mark their last 15 in that situation. Off three straight close losses, the most recent to these same Oilers, the Canucks are going to be extremely motivated. This is the final leg of a 4-game homestand for Vancouver, which adds to the desperation. The Canucks are a perfect 5-0 the past five times that they played their previous three at home, 26-14 (+15.9) their last 40 in that situation. Don't be surprised when they score the minor upset this evening. Consider Vancouver.
My free play is on Minnesota at 9:00 ET.
Northwestern opened the current season 6-1 and 3-0 in the Big Ten, after its Dec 26 win 71-70 over Ohio St. However, the Wildcats have 'imploded' since that time and enter this game at Minnesota on a 13-game losing streak (3-9-1 ATS). Minnesota has spent FIVE weeks in the top-25 this season but currently sits 13-10, including 6-10 in the Big Ten. The Gophers haven't been very 'golden' these days, having lost EIGHT of 11 after a lopsided 94-63 loss at home to Illinois on Saturday.
Northwestern has a decent roster, as SEVEN players have participated in all 20 games. A trio of guards in Audige (12.9), Kopp (11.7) and Buie (9.5 & 4.3 APG) plus a duo of 6-10 players, Nance (11.5 & 6.6) & Young (8.2 & 4.5) have led the way. Minnesota PG Carr (19.0-3.9-5.0) has led Minnesota all season but recently guard Gabe Kalscheur (9.2) is out three-to-four weeks with a broken finger and 7-0 center Liam Robbins (11.7 points and team-high 6.6 rebounds) is battling a foot injury. That said, Pitino still has 6-8 Western Michigan transfer Johnson (9.0 & 6.2) and 6-6 Utah transfer Gach (7.3 & 4.0) plus freshman Mashburn (7.1) to turn to.
EIGHT of Northwestern's 13 losses have come by double digits and Minnesota's at-large hopes are plummeting, a strong finish could (would?) get them into the Big Dance" on the strength of the Big Ten. Lay the points.
10 Calgary at Ottawa
The Flames have the better numbers on the season, as when Ottawa has lost many times it has been in blowout fashion. But a closer look at the advanced stats of xG/60 we find these two teams being much closer than the line would suggest. That's especially true when we look at Power Play and Penalty Killing statistics. With Calgary being a sizable favorite in this one we get a nice payback with the host.
Washington has been an interesting team as of late. They keep giving good teams issues and are putting the pressure on. They are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 in this series and should be able to keep this one close throughout.
Good Luck, Razor Ray.
Thursday 5* NBA Free ATS Play
My eyes perk up whenever I see Eastern Illinois in a favorite's role. The Panthers are 1-10 ATS in that role this season. They also have failed to cover five of their last six home games. Southeast Missouri State has picked up its game going 2-1 SU and ATS in its last three games. During this span, the Redhawks upset Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky by 22 points. Then there is the first meeting between Southeast Missouri State and Eastern Illinois. The Redhawks were 3-point home favorites on Jan. 30. Final score: Southeast Missouri State 75, Eastern Illinois 44. Case closed. (Editor's note: Fresh off winning his Southland Conference Game of the Year with McNeese State on Wednesday, Stephen Nover has his Big Ten Conference Game of the Year today. The midwest native is one of the top college basketball handicappers in the nation going 225-171-5 the last four seasons. All of Stephen's picks come with his trademark analysis. Stephen has three other CBB plays today besides this free selection headed by his highly-sought Big Ten Game of the Year.)
