NASCAR 2017 Monster Energy Cup Betting
Looking for 2017 Monster Energy Cup Futures Odds? You’re in the right place! Monster Energy has replaced Sprint at the new title sponsor for NASCAR’s Cup series and looking at the futures odds recently posted at BetOnline Sportsbook to win this season’s title it should be a monster year of racing action starting with the season-opening Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26.
While there is some solid betting value across the board when you start digging into the actual odds to win this season’s Cup title, I have come up with my three picks as the top-valued favorite, contender and longshot to race their way to a championship in that final point-race event of the season at Homestead-Miami in late November.
Monster Energy Cup Futures Odds – The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)
Jimmie Johnson’s run to last season’s Cup series title was one of the most exciting rides to a championship under the new rules of the Chase and he offers some solid value at +800 to win another title this season.
However, I am still going chalk with Kevin Harvick as my top favorite at +650 odds given his overall consistency behind the wheel of the No. 4 Chevrolet.
Harvick won his first Cup title in 2014 and he placed second to Kyle Busch in 2015.
Last year’s Chase did not go as planned and he faded to eighth in the final point standings. This setback only adds more fuel to the fire to get back on top in 2017.
Monster Energy Cup Futures Odds – The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
There are number of great veteran contenders on the list at BetOnline including Brad Keselowski at +1200 and Denny Hamlin at +1400, but I believe the future is now with NASCAR’s youth movement making their presence seriously felt in this season’s competition.
I was a big fan of Chase Elliott last year in his first full-time season behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet and I love the value in his +1200 betting odds to break through this year with a title run.
Elliott qualified for the 2016 Chase with 17 Top-10 finishes including 10 inside the top five.
He was able to advance to the Round of 8 before this run stalled.
With a great racing team in his corner, look for him to take that next big step this year.
Monster Energy Cup Futures Odds – The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
Staying with the young guns of NASCAR, I would roll the dice on Austin Dillon as a +4000 longshot to win the Cup title in his fourth full-time season racing at the sport’s highest level.
He came into the Cup series with quite a bit of fanfare as the driver of the famed No. 3 Chevrolet and while he is still looking for his first career victory in a point-race event, Dillon is moving in the right direction.
He qualified for last season’s Chase with four Top-5 runs and nine more finishes inside the top 10.
While he did not get past the opening round of the Chase to finish 14th in the final 2016 standings, that was still a major improvement from the season before when he faded to 21st with just one Top-5 run.
