With just one game left in the 2015 NFL season (unless you are betting on the Pro Bowl) it is time to go big with one last Super Bowl 50 parlay pick based on the current betting odds from 5Dimes.eu.
The entire betting world appeared to be on New England last Sunday, but I saw through the façade and went with the Broncos and the three points in that game.
Defense wins championships and in stirring victories against both Pittsburgh in the Divisional Round and the Patriots last Sunday, Denver’s No.1 ranked unit rose to the occasion.
The main difference between those two games and Super Bowl 50 is that instead of playing in the comfort of home at Mile High, the Broncos are going to have to shutdown the NFL’s top-scoring offense on a neutral playing field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
I still believe that the Broncos’ defense is the key to keeping things close, but I also think it is going to be a very tall task keeping Carolina in check for all four quarters.
The Panthers’ road to Super Bowl 50 in the postseason was not as nearly as stressful, although they did almost blow a 31-point lead against Seattle in the Divisional Round.
They took matters into their own hands for all four quarters against Arizona to make sure there were no more dramatic comebacks after building another comfortable lead.
Cam Newton has clearly earned league MVP honors for his stellar performance in the regular season to help lead Carolina to a 15-1 mark.
He will now have his chance to shine on the NFL’s biggest stage and I would have to believe that he is up to the task.
As a perfect complement to an offense that was ranked first in scoring this year in the NFL with an average of 31.2 points per game was a Carolina defense that was also ranked first in the league in takeaways with 39.
That continued in the playoffs with a +8 turnover ratio, including two interceptions returned for scores by linebacker Luke Kuechly.
Denver opened as a four-point underdog when 5Dimes first set its betting odds for this game and the betting public as driven this line up to six points in just a few days.
I would have to think it will level-out from here, but this many points has forced me to take a closer look at a play on the Broncos to cover.

I actually see both teams scoring enough points to take this game OVER the current 45-point line and I will also bet that Peyton Manning still has one or two tricks left up his sleeve to keep this game tighter than six points until the final gun.
