2026 PGA Tour Picks
It’s time for the 2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks, and as always, CappersPicks.com has you covered with PGA golf betting predictions and handicapping insight. With another opportunity to profit from the latest stop on Tour, bettors looking to sharpen their edge can lean on our breakdowns all week long.
If you’re betting this tournament, understanding course history, current form, and where the market tends to overreact matters just as much as the raw numbers themselves.
In other words, blindly backing recognizable names without evaluating fit at PGA National is rarely the sharpest approach.
That’s where we come in.

2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks
The 2026 PGA Tour season heads to Florida for the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, marking the first leg of the Florida swing. Notably, PGA National’s Champions Course is one of the more demanding ball-striking tests on the early-season calendar.
This event features a 121-player field, and however, several marquee names are absent as this is the first non-signature event in three weeks.
Rory McIlroy is skipping this stop to continue preparation for Augusta National as he gears up for his Masters title defense.
Additionally, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Collin Morikawa are also sitting this one out.
As a result, none of the world’s top-five — or even top-ten — ranked players will tee it up in Palm Beach Gardens this weekend.
This Week on the PGA Tour
Even without the top ten in attendance, this field still carries intrigue. For example, World No. 11 Ben Griffin and World No. 12 Sepp Straka headline a competitive second tier that suddenly becomes the betting focal point.
The biggest storyline, meanwhile, centers around Brooks Koepka. He returns to PGA Tour action after missing the cut at the WM Phoenix Open and previously finishing T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Therefore, all eyes will be on how sharp his competitive edge looks in his first Florida start of the season.
Last Year
Joe Highsmith captured the 2025 Cognizant Classic title, although it nearly ended before the weekend began. Facing a slippery five-footer late Friday to make the cut on the number, Highsmith calmly rolled it in to secure his tee time for Saturday.
Consequently, what could have been another missed cut instead became a career-defining weekend. Highsmith fired back-to-back rounds of 64 to surge up the leaderboard and ultimately win by two shots over Jacob Bridgeman and J.J. Spaun.
The victory marked his first PGA Tour win. At the same time, it was the first instance in nine years that a player made the cut on the number and went on to win the event, a feat last accomplished by Brandt Snedeker in 2016.
Highsmith’s putting was the true separator. He made 135 feet of putts in the third round alone, gaining over three strokes on the field with the flatstick. He followed that up Sunday without missing a putt inside 15 feet and finished the week leading the field in Strokes Gained: Putting by more than 12 shots.

2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks – PGA Golf
At the same time, course history and current form remain critical when betting PGA National.
For that reason, identifying players who handle wind, water hazards, and demanding approach shots is far more important than chasing brand recognition.
2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Ryan Gerard +1900
Gerard arrives in strong form as the only player in this field inside the top 30 of the FedExCup standings. He finished fourth here in 2023 as a rookie and added a T25 last season. Therefore, familiarity combined with confidence makes him a legitimate contender.
2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Daniel Berger +3300
Berger enters off a missed cut at Riviera but historically performs well at PGA National. He debuted with a playoff loss here in 2015 and has posted multiple top-five finishes since. Because of that, this bounce-back spot deserves attention.
2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Jordan Smith +4500
Smith has looked sharp in his rookie campaign, highlighted by a T16 at TPC Scottsdale. His tee-to-green consistency and ball-striking profile should translate well to the Champions Course. In addition, his comfort in windy conditions adds value.
2026 Cognizant Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Johnny Keefer +5500
Keefer has cashed in all four starts since joining the PGA Tour. He ranks first on Tour in Greens in Regulation and second in Ball Striking. Similarly, PGA National rewards precisely that skill set.
