2026 PGA Tour Picks
2026 3M Open Free Picks are here as the PGA Tour heads to TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, for one of the final stops before the FedExCup Playoffs. CappersPicks.com has this week’s outright betting odds, course breakdown, handicapping analysis, and best value picks to help you attack another wide-open tournament.
The 3M Open has quietly become one of the PGA Tour’s best betting events.
Birdies come in bunches, scoring opportunities are everywhere, and one hot putter can quickly climb the leaderboard. That creates plenty of value beyond the outright market for bettors willing to dig a little deeper.

2026 3M Open Free Picks
The PGA Tour returns stateside after The Open Championship with only a handful of tournaments remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs begin. That urgency creates one of the strongest motivational weeks of the summer, as players battle for playoff positioning while others simply try to keep their seasons alive.
TPC Twin Cities has rewarded aggressive golf since joining the Tour schedule.
Winning scores regularly push beyond 20-under par, making birdies a necessity rather than a luxury. Golfers who combine strong approach play with a hot putter usually separate themselves by the weekend.
This Week on the PGA Tour
Scottie Scheffler headlines the field as the clear betting favorite, but this tournament feels much deeper than the odds suggest. Several proven PGA Tour winners arrive with enough firepower to challenge if Scheffler shows even the slightest opening. That’s exactly why the 3M Open has produced several surprise contenders over the years.
TPC Twin Cities gives players plenty of chances to attack. Fairways are generous by Tour standards, but missing in the wrong spots still brings water hazards and deep bunkers into play. Golfers who stay aggressive without forcing the issue generally produce the best scoring opportunities.
Birdies win the 3M Open, but avoiding big mistakes usually decides the trophy.
Scoring on the par 4s will once again play a major role. Players who consistently create birdie chances from inside 150 yards should have an excellent opportunity to keep pace in what is expected to become another low-scoring shootout.
TPC Twin Cities Course Preview
TPC Twin Cities measures over 7,400 yards, but it rarely overwhelms the field with length alone. Instead, the layout rewards smart course management, quality iron play, and players willing to stay patient after the occasional mistake.
Water hazards come into play on numerous holes, creating risk throughout the round. Long hitters can gain an advantage, but only if they keep the ball in position off the tee.
Approach shots ultimately separate contenders from the rest of the field.
Large greens allow plenty of birdie opportunities, yet poor distance control often leaves difficult lag putts. Players who consistently hit wedges and short irons close should generate enough chances to post another winning score beyond 20-under par.
3M Open Betting Trends
Recent champions have followed a similar formula. They make birdies in bunches, take advantage of the par 5s, and avoid costly mistakes around the water hazards. Kurt Kitayama reached 23-under last year, while Lee Hodges and Tony Finau also turned the tournament into a birdie fest during their victories.
That trend should influence your betting card.
TPC Twin Cities rewards aggressive golfers, but patience still matters. Players who refuse to panic after a bogey often respond with multiple birdies over the next few holes, making live betting another angle worth watching throughout the week.
Last Year
Kurt Kitayama captured the 2025 3M Open after closing with a brilliant 65 to edge Sam Stevens by a single shot. His tournament-record-tying third-round 60 put him firmly into contention before an aggressive final-round start carried him to victory.
Kitayama birdied 6 of his first 8 holes on Sunday and never surrendered control despite a late scare on the 18th. The victory capped one of the biggest turnarounds of his season after struggling with consistency for much of the year.
Past 3M Open Winners
- 2025 — Kurt Kitayama
- 2024 — Jhonattan Vegas
- 2023 — Lee Hodges
- 2022 — Tony Finau
- 2021 — Cameron Champ
- 2020 — Michael Thompson
- 2019 — Matthew Wolff
Several different styles have succeeded at TPC Twin Cities. Bombers, elite iron players, and hot putters have all lifted the trophy, but every winner took advantage of scoring opportunities while limiting costly mistakes when the pressure increased.
2026 3M Open Free Picks – PGA Golf
Finding this week’s winner starts with balancing value against safety. Scottie Scheffler deserves favorite status, but golf tournaments are rarely won on paper, especially in a field where several proven PGA Tour players carry attractive outright prices.
My betting card focuses on golfers who arrive in solid form, create plenty of birdie chances, and have the type of aggressive mindset needed to win another low-scoring 3M Open.
Below are my favorite outright selections for this week’s tournament.
2026 3M Open Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Scottie Scheffler +270
Scottie Scheffler deserves to be the betting favorite, even at a short number. He’s still the best player in this field by a comfortable margin, and very few golfers match his consistency from tee to green. In a tournament where birdies will be essential, nobody creates more scoring chances over 4 rounds.
TPC Twin Cities fits his game perfectly.
He drives it long enough to attack the par 5s, ranks among the Tour’s elite with his irons, and rarely makes the kind of mistakes that knock contenders out of the tournament. If his putter performs anywhere near average, Scheffler will be extremely difficult to beat.
2026 3M Open Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Eric Cole +4700
Eric Cole continues knocking on the door of his first PGA Tour victory. Week after week he puts himself in contention with solid ball striking, dependable putting, and the type of steady play that travels well to almost any course.
This setup should suit him.
TPC Twin Cities rewards golfers who create plenty of birdie opportunities without forcing the issue. Cole checks both boxes, making him one of my favorite value plays anywhere outside the top of the betting board.
2026 3M Open Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Michael Brennan +5400
Michael Brennan continues proving he belongs on the PGA Tour. The young rookie has already posted several impressive finishes against much stronger fields, showing maturity well beyond his experience level.
Confidence won’t be an issue this week. Brennan has the length to attack TPC Twin Cities, and his iron play continues trending in the right direction. At better than 50-to-1, he’s carrying far more upside than most golfers in this price range.
2026 3M Open Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Emiliano Grillo +11000
Emiliano Grillo immediately stands out as one of my favorite longshot outright bets. His recent results may not jump off the page, but his history at TPC Twin Cities certainly does.
Course history matters here.
Grillo owns multiple top finishes at this event and has repeatedly shown he can take advantage of this layout. Triple-digit odds are difficult to ignore when a player has already demonstrated he knows exactly how to score around this course.
Best Mid-Tier Value Plays
This section of the board offers several golfers capable of winning if Scheffler slips. Corey Conners deserves plenty of attention thanks to his elite ball striking, while Sungjae Im has the all-around game to pile up birdies throughout the week. Tony Finau also remains dangerous after enjoying plenty of success at TPC Twin Cities over the years.
Sam Stevens is another player worth considering.
He nearly lifted this trophy a year ago and continues showing the type of aggressive scoring ability needed on a course where 20-under may not be enough to win. Eric Cole also fits comfortably into this group if you’re spreading exposure across multiple outright tickets.
Darkhorse Candidates Worth Watching
Several golfers outside the favorites deserve a serious look this week. Michael Brennan leads my list, but Jason Day, Davis Thompson, and Max Greyserman also offer attractive value if they arrive with sharp iron play and a warm putter.
Momentum matters at this stage of the season.
Players fighting for FedExCup points often bring extra urgency over the final weeks of the regular season. That motivation can create outstanding betting value once prices move beyond the top tier.
Longshot Golfers With Upside
Every season, the 3M Open produces at least one surprise name near the top of the leaderboard.
Course history and a hot putter can erase the gap between favorites and longshots at TPC Twin Cities.
Emiliano Grillo headlines my sleeper card after producing several strong finishes here in previous years. Chris Kirk and Lucas Glover also deserve consideration thanks to their experience, while Tom Hoge offers intriguing value playing in his home state of Minnesota.
Patrick Rodgers rounds out my longshot list.
He’s capable of catching fire with the putter, and that’s often all it takes to become a serious factor in another low-scoring 3M Open.

How to Bet the 3M Open
The 3M Open usually rewards aggressive golf, but bettors shouldn’t limit themselves to outright winners. Top-10 finishes, Top-20s, first-round leaders, and tournament matchups often provide better long-term value on a course where birdies come in bunches.
Live betting deserves plenty of attention.
If one of your pre-tournament selections starts slowly while continuing to hit quality approach shots, sportsbooks can overreact. Those situations often create excellent opportunities before the market corrects itself.
On a birdie-friendly course, one hot round can completely change the tournament.
Weather Could Play a Role
Minnesota weather can change quickly, even in late July. Wind remains the biggest concern, as stronger afternoon gusts make TPC Twin Cities noticeably more difficult than calm morning conditions.
Watch the forecast before placing your bets.
If one wave receives significantly calmer conditions, that advantage could become worth several strokes over the first 36 holes.
Best Sportsbook To Bet PGA Golf
The 3M Open offers far more than outright betting. Golf bettors can attack Top-5s, Top-10s, Top-20s, nationality props, head-to-head matchups, first-round leaders, and live wagering throughout the tournament.
MyBookie remains one of my favorite sportsbooks for PGA Tour betting because they consistently offer competitive odds, strong golf promotions, and one of the deepest betting menus available each week.
