It’s time for the latest edition of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open PGA Tourney, and that means it’s time for some PGA Tour free picks. The PGA Tour’s FedEx Fall Series continues this week with a trip to Sin City for the Shriners Children’s Open. The event will take place at TPC Summerlin and is the fourth of eight events in the FedEx Cup Fall. The course is a short trip from last week’s Black Desert Championship – only two hours by car.

This tournament was first played in 1983 and boasts a very impressive list of former champions, including Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, Jim Furyk, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods.
This Week on the PGA Tour
Tom Kim is in the field this week after winning this event each of the past two years. He’ll look to become the seventh player in PGA Tour history to win an event three consecutive times by breaking out from this field of 132.
Canadian Adam Hadwin was the runner-up in the 2023 edition of this tournament, falling behind Kim by just won stroke for the crown. He’s expected to be back in the mix as oddsmakers have tabbed him inside the top-10 on the odds board.
TPC Summerlin sits at altitude so it’ll play shorter than the 7,255 yards suggests for this Par 71 course. It’s consistently ranked as one of the easiest par 71s on the Tour schedule. Prior to Kim winning last year with a score of 20-under-par, the previous four players to emerge victorious from this event scored at least 23-under-par.
This event is shaping up to once again be a low scoring event, with birdie and eagle opportunities aplenty. The winner has scored 20-under-par or better in 17 of the 20 editions since switching to a 71-stroke-to-par format.
And the final stretch has been favorable for the players as well, with 12 of the last 18 winners leading or co-leading heading into the final round, so alert bettors may want to revisit the odds board again after the first 54 holes are in the books.

A breakthrough feels inevitable for Hoge who has more red numbers than any player in the FedExCup Fall schedule which will be a key this week with all players hunting for a low number in a friendly scoring environment. Hoge finished T7 recently at the Procore Championship and has three top-15 finishes at this event already to his name.

Hadwin finished just one stroke off the pace here last year. He’s been a perennial contender at this event, with four top-10 finishes in the last five years, including that runner-up from a year ago. This will be the first time we see him tee it up in the fall portion of the schedule as he hasn’t played since the BMW Championship in August, but he should quickly get into form on this course he’s become so comfortable playing on.

Jaeger is coming off an impressive showing t Black Desert with a solo second. He’s already punched his ticket for all Signature Events in 2025 so there’s a freeness to the German’s game this fall. He could start adding to his list of accomplishments as soon as this week.
