With all of that in mind who should we be keeping an extra eye on this week? Let’s break it down.
2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Favorites:
Hideki Matsuyama +900
It should come as a surprise to no one that Hideki Matsuyama comes into this match as the favorite to win the Waste Management open, as he has won this tour each of the last two years.

He comes into this tournament playing some really good golf too. He has been top five in three of his last five tournaments, and although he finished 12th in the Farmers Open, he closed the tournament strong shooting 69 on Sunday.
Although his price isn’t great, it’s hard to ignore someone who has won this tournament in back to back years. He knows how to deal with the pressure this golf course hands out.
Justin Thomas +1600
In his last 29 starts Justin Thomas has six wins, and comes into this tournament with confidence as he has gone at least -4 in each of his last five starts.
One thing that concerns me with Thomas is that this is his first start since the Sony Open a few weekends back. He didn’t compete last weekend and it will be interesting to see how he responds early in this tournament.
2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Contenders:
Rickie Fowler +1600
Fowler really struggled against last weekend missing the cut, but he has had a lot of success this year. In the three starts before he had a second place, a first and a tie for fourth.
Although his price isn’t great, with his success he might be worth the chance.
Brenden Steele +5000
If you are looking for a guy who has had success at this tournament and is at a decent price, look no farther. He has three top six finishes here, and has never missed the cut.

He has a win back in October, so he is hungry for another one. If he can have a solid first couple of days look for him to be hovering around the top of the leader-board come Sunday.
2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Sleeper (+6000 or higher):
Charley Hoffman +7000
Charley Hoffman didn’t have the best week at the Farmers Insurance Open shooting a 75 on Sunday and really dropping him down the leader-board.
But he has had success this year, including a second place finish at the Hero World Challenge. If you are looking for a sleeper in this tournament he is your guy.
2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Picks:
The guy I do really like is – Justin Thomas +1600 to have a nice tournament and end up on top on Sunday Afternoon.
He comes into this tournament hot and with a lot of confidence, and I would expect to see him leave the tournament with a little more cash in his pocket.
