2017 PGA BMW Championship Preview and Picks
Ready to bet on this week’s 2017 BMW Championship betting odds? We have reached the third round of the Fed Ex Cup playoffs where players will be trying to punch their ticket to the Tour Championship. Only the top 30 players will make the final round of the playoffs, so there is a lot of pressure on every guy in this field this weekend.
2017 BMW Championship
- Where: Conway Farms Golf Club, Lake Forest, Illinois
- Format: 72 holes – Stroke Play
- Purse: $8,750,000
- Defending Champion: Chris Wood
- TV Coverage: Golf Channel, NBC
- Updated Sportsbook Bonuses For Today
When the Conway Farms Golf Club was opened it was built with a traditional Scottish links style course in mind. In terms of numbers this weekend will probably feature a lot of low scores on the scorecard.
There will be no cuts after the second round so everyone will be playing the full four rounds.

With all of that in mind who should we be keeping an extra eye on this week? Let’s break it down.
2017 BMW Championship Favorites:
Jordan Spieth 6/1
Like is the case most weeks Jordan Spieth is favored to win this BMW Championship. In his last tournament the Dell Technologies Championship he finished in second.
He had three bogies on the back nine and once again kind of collapsed away a title he should have had.
That ins’t the first time he has given up a win he should have had, and although those problems seemed to be behind him they seemed to ave crept back in again.
To win this tournament he of course needs to play well all weekend, but his mind needs to be right on Sunday. He can’t keep having this late struggles.
Sometimes he seems almost too agressive instead of just going with the smart shots and play.
Dustin Johnson 7/1
Dustin Johnson is a long driver, but the fairways this week are narrow and that might hurt his chances to bring home this title.
He comes into this tournament after finishing 18th in the Dell Technologies Championship.
He and Spieth will be paired together the first two rounds, so that will be quite the battle to watch early on in this tournament.
2017 BMW Championship Contenders:
Jason Day 12/1
If you go off past results at this golf course, Jason Day is really nice pick. He finished in fourth place in 2013 and won the event at this course in 2015.
He feels very comfortable with this course and has done well here but this year the results haven’t been great. He is going to need a real special effort in this one to come hoisting the trophy.
Rickie Fowler 12/1
Rickie Fowler is another one that has had success in this event over the last few years. He plays a more mature golf game and it has shown with the results on the course.

In each of the last two years he has finished tied fourth in this event and has had some success in this playoff format.
Kevin Na 65/1
One thing very important at this course this weekend will be scoring on the Par 4’s and that is exactly what Kevin Na has made his living on.
He also comes into this event off three top thirty finishes including tied for fourth at the Wyndham Championships. If he can stick around he is someone to watch out for on Sunday.
2017 BMW Championship Sleeper (75/1 or higher):
Zach Johnson 75/1
I don’t really like anyone as a sleeper this weekend but if I had to pick one I would take Zach Johnson. He is playing close to home and at a course he has played a lot.
He should be one of the crowd favorites and that could be enough to lead him to a championship.
2017 BMW Championship Picks:
I really don’t like Dustin Johnson or Jordan Speith this weekend. The guy I do really like is – Jason Day
at 12/1 to have a nice tournament and end up on top on Sunday Afternoon.
He likes playing at this course and has had success and I think that will be enough to lead him to the championship in this one.
