The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a 4-3 win over the Bruins and will look to continue the winning ways against New Jersey.
The Devils, struggling to stay relevant in the very tough Metropolitan Division, will look to win the second game of a back-to-back after taking on the Maple Leafs Thursday night.
Edmonton Oilers
After losing the two previous games, the Oilers bounced back with a win against the Bruins and will look to get two in a row against the Devils.
Edmonton is Connor McDavid’s team. He’s quickly turning into one of the top players in the NHL and is leading the team in points. He has 14 goals and 31 assists on the year, including two and three in his last five games.
His speed and stickhandling are almost unmatched by the majority of the league and his presence turns a decent Oilers team into a good Oilers team.

Helping out as usual is fellow center Leon Draisaitl. He has 14 goals as well, along with 20 assists. In his last five games, he’s contributed three assists.
Left winger Patrick Maroon has really turned things on recently. He has five goals – including a hat-trick against Boston – in his last five games, along with an assist.
With offensive weapons like these, it’s hard to believe that Edmonton is only 3rd in the Pacific Division. The Oilers will look to change that with and gain some points against the Devils.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils are coming off a tough game against the Toronto Maple Leafs and are sitting in a disappointing 7th place in the Metropolitan Division.
It would be extremely tough for them to make the playoffs at this point.
The team is 24th in the NHL in goals against and has given up 115 goals on the year. This isn’t conducive to winning especially when you look at the fact that the team has only scored 92 on the year.
The collective minus-23 goal differential has really hurt this Devils team. New Jersey is fourth worst in the league in goal scoring.

Star acquisition Taylor Hall got off to a good start this year and has had a solid five-game stretch for the Devils. He has one goal and four assists over the last five.
Right winger P.A. Parenteau has been the Devils other best option for scoring.
He has three goals in his last five games, giving him 11 on the year.
NHL Betting Trends:
- The Total has been UNDER in eight of Edmonton’s last 10 games
- Edmonton is 5-2 ATS in the last seven games on the road
