After winning two in a row, Tennessee lost in the Meadowlands to the winless Jets in Week 4.
The Jaguars led the Bengals for most of Thursday evening in Cincinnati but couldn’t close out what would have been their first victory of the season.
It will be a matchup of first place versus last place in the AFC South when these two get together in Jacksonville on Sunday.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans registered each of the game’s first three scores against the Jets on Sunday but all three were field goals.
New York eventually got on the board before the half and took a 10–9 lead into the fourth quarter.
That was where the under went to die. Derrick Henry, who, predictably, had a big afternoon, plunged in from a yard out.
Then the Jets struck twice in just over two minutes. Jamison Crowder caught a short touchdown pass in his season debut and then the former Titan Corey Davis scored on a deep ball from Zach Wilson to make it 24–17.
Ryan Tannehill took the offense 74 yards in the nick of time, punching it in with 16 seconds left on the clock to force overtime.
It proved to be all for not. The Jets took the ball to the goal line but Tennessee got the stop and forced a field goal.
The game ended when Randy Bullock hooked the game-tying attempt left from 49 yards away.
Tannehill still threw for nearly 300 yards even with his top two targets, AJ Brown and Julio Jones, both out with hamstring injuries.
But he took seven sacks, even with Henry (33 carries, 157 yards) keeping the Jets’ defense honest on the ground.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars took a 14–0 lead into halftime on Thursday night but couldn’t hold it in the second.
Joe Burrow threw two touchdown passes to his tight end CJ Uzomah and Cincinnati kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to win, 24–21.
Jacksonville ran the ball effectively early. James Robinson and Trevor Lawrence racked up 100 in the first two quarters, primarily running the read option.
Both took multiple big hits but popped right back up. An innocent spectator couldn’t help but think both guys could be wasting the strength of their youth playing for Urban Meyer on a roster lacking in talent.
DJ Chark fractured his ankle early in the first quarter, which leaves Lawrence even more badly off. Look for Laviska Shenault, Jamal Agnew, Marvin Jones, and even newly-acquired tight end Dan Arnold to see more targets with Chark out.
As for Robinson, he will continue to get the ball often. He’s clearly Jacksonville’s best skill position player, though Agnew’s speed is undeniable.
If the Jaguars are to stay in this one, they must get pressure on Tannehill like the Jets did.
Joe Burrow stayed upright most the whole night on Thursday and, as a result, Jacksonville failed to force a turnover.

4* Free Week 5 NFL Betting Prediction:
Tennessee.
The Titans are way too talented to have lost to the Jets. They are way too talented to lose to the Jaguars, too.
Even if Brown and Jones were to both miss another game, Tennessee should roll.
It starts on defense for a unit that has lost its respect around the league. The first step in earning it back will be shutting down the Jags.
Henry and Tannehill will be enough, especially if the offense is controlling the time of possession.
