Tennessee is a hard team to like but they made the playoffs a year ago and after beating up New England last week might just be heading back there this season.
The Colts are only two games out of first and they can draw even with Tennessee if they get this win. They are obviously not out of it yet.
One of the most shocking results of the season will be how Tennessee dominated against New England last week. They made Tom Brady and the Pats looks super average both offensively and defensively but they are going to need more results like that to make a push for the playoffs.
The thing that stands out most from the effort was the play of the defense. They held the Pats to just 10 points and limited them to just three third down conversions the whole game. That is usually one drive’s worth for Brady. Tennessee is tops in the NFL in points allowed.
Those defensive numbers are a result of hard nosed effort as the Titans are not getting a ton of negative yardage plays or turnovers. When you limit points you give yourself a chance.
Marcus Mariotta has his moments but this is never going to be a dynamic offense. In both roster construction and play calling they are built to control the clock and wait teams out. Not exciting stuff at all.
After a terrible start the Colts have won back to back to back games to be relevant in the AFC South this season. A fourth win would be huge as it would get them to .500 and drag the Titans down to their level. This team can score but doesn’t play much defense.
If you watch the games I think it is fair to say that Andrew Luck is not the same player he was before. Still, he has infused the offense – they are 6th in scoring this season. The offense does look different though with TE Eric Ebron taking the feature role away from TY Hilton.
Tennessee likes one style of game and the Colts like another. Usually home teams are better able to get the pace and style they want, win or lose. The Colts want to get an early lead and force the Titans to throw and play catch up. If they can do that they can easily win at home.
I was not sold on Indy coming into the season and everything I have seen has me in the same spot. There is just not enough on defense to count on these guys with regularity and Luck can only do so much. This looks like a spot that could confirm those preseason musings.
NFL Betting Trends:

- IND are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. AFC South.
- Under is 8-3 in IND last 11 vs. AFC South.
- Under is 12-5 in IND last 17 home games.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Tennessee +3
Tennessee has huge momentum for this one after last week but not enough to be a favourite on the road against a sub .500 team. Interesting.
NFL Free Week 11 Score Prediction: Tennessee 23 – Indianapolis 17
Tennessee looks like the more complete team and there are worse things to do than to back the best defense in the league, even on the road. They are getting three. .
