Wild Card weekend finishes up with an NFC showdown. The Seattle Seahawks make the trip to a cold Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Over the last five meetings between these two teams, the Seahawks are 5-0. This includes a meeting in Philadelphia this season where the Seahawks won 17-9.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks suffered a tough loss in week 17 to the 49ers which ended up costing them a chance to play a home playoff game. They were literally a yard away from winning this game and the division as they were stopped at the 1 with less than 20 seconds to play and down by five.
Even though they lost this game, being on the road could actually play in favor of this Seattle team. They are 7-1 on the road this season compared to a 4-4 record in Seattle.
On the season, the Seahawks find themselves as a top offensive team. They are averaging 374.4 total yards per game, which ranks as the 8th best in the league. They are just an average passing offense, averaging 236.9 yards per game. Their rushing offense is the 4th best in the NFL, averaging 137.5 yards per game.
One thing to note is they have a ton of injuries at the running back position. Leading rusher, Chris Carson was placed on the injured reserve with a hip injury recently. Rashaad Penny also finds himself on the IR, which forced Seattle to go out and bring back Marshawn Lynch. For this game, they will likely rely on Travis Homer to handle the majority of the carries. He had 62 yards rushing against the 49ers.

It is safe to say that defense has been an issue for the Seahawks this season. They allow an average of 381.6 yards per game. This ranks 26th in the league. Against the pass, they allow 263.9 yards per game, ranking 27th.
Their best area is defending the run, allowing 117.7 yards per game. This still ranks just 22nd in the league.
As for points allowed per game, the Seahawks allow an average of 24.9. Note that in road games this season, this average has dropped to 21.1 points per game.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles blew out the Giants this past Sunday to claim the NFC East title. So even though they have a record of 9-7, they will get to host a playoff game.
The Eagles have an average offense to say the least. They average 360.8 yards per game, ranking 14th in the NFL. When passing the ball, they average 239.6 yards per game, ranking 11th. As for their rushing attack, they average 121.2 yards per game, also ranking 11th.
The biggest question mark for the Eagles is the health of Zach Ertz. He is questionable for this game with a rib injury. His presence will be crucial for this Eagles offense, so keep an eye on his status.
The Eagles defense has been wildly inconsistent this season. They have had games where they dominate and then there are games like against the Dolphins where they allowed 37 points.
The good news is they know how to defend the run. They rank 3rd in this category an allow just 90.1 yards per game. Because Seattle is thin at running back, expect the Eagles to force Russell Wilson to beat them with his arm.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Seattle Seahawks -1.5
Seattle have their fair share of problems, however they have proved to be one of the best road teams in the NFL. For that reason, I like them to win this game and cover the small spread.
