A pair of NFC West teams riding win streaks will meet in Week 15 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Seattle Seahawks will travel down the coast to face off with the Los Angeles Rams.
These teams last played in Week 5 with the Rams coming out on top 26-17. Russell Wilson broke his finger and was unable to return to the game which shifted the momentum heavily. Geno Smith performed admirably but was unable to lead a last minute drive and was intercepted by Jalen Ramsey.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks season quickly went down the drain when Wilson went out with a broken finger the last time these teams played. He eventually missed several weeks and hasn’t looked the same since his return.
Seattle sits towards the bottom of the league but without a first round selection there is no incentive to lose for a higher pick. The Seahawks have won their last two games and are keeping their slim playoff chances alive.
Last week, Seattle played Houston tight through the first half and led 16-13 at halftime. They put in a strong second half performance and shut out the Texans 17-0 to coast to a 33-13 victory.
Russell Wilson threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns to help the Seahawks win consecutive games for the first time this season. It was Wilson’s 89th game with two TD passes or more, passing Dan Marino (88) for second-most such games in a player’s first 10 NFL seasons.
Tyler Lockett had a monster game and finished with 5 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown. His receiving total now sits at 1,023 yards this season. He joins Steve Largent as the only players in franchise history to have at least 1,000 yards receiving in three straight seasons.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams ended their their three game slide with back to back wins. LA has quickly went from sliding down the wild card spots to back within a game of the NFC West division lead.
Down four starters on reserve/COVID-19, the Rams defeated the division-leading Cardinals 30-23. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had his best game this season against a quality team and completed 23 of 30 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Cooper Kupp continued his historic season and finished in team highs with 13 receptions, 123 yards, and a touchdown.
The biggest issue for the Rams right now is they’ve added wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and eight other players to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. They are one of several teams in the league dealing with advanced protocols as more positive cases continue to grow.
The Rams final stretch includes home to Seattle, away to Minnesota, away to Baltimore, and home to San Francisco in the season finale. It’s a challenging stretch for a team missing several key contributors and still playing for a potential division crown.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Cardinals are 9-4 ATS this season
- Cardinals OVERS are 7-6 this season
- Rams are 6-7 ATS this season
- Rams OVERS are 7-5-1 this season
4* Free Week 15 NFL Betting Prediction: Seahawks +6.5
This matchup will be decided heavily on which Rams players will be cleared to play. They currently have 13 players on the reserve/COVID list which would be a substantial obstacle to overcome on a short week.
Seattle has been playing better lately and they are very familiar with their divisional foes. The Seahawks hung tough in the first matchup this year even with Geno Smith playing the majority of the second half.
I like Seattle to go on the road and keep this game close enough to cover this large line.
