Week three of preseason is typically the week where teams take things seriously and the starters typically play at least a half and usually a little bit more than that.
For both Cowboys fans and Raiders fans, as well, I guess, but specifically Cowboys fans they couldn’t be happier about that. Watching Kellen Moore try and play football is pretty much torture.
It’s only preseason, but the Oakland Raiders had problems defensively and it looks like they’ll have major defensive problems this season as well.
Which might end up costing them big down, heck, they probably won’t even make the playoffs this season because of their defense.
Anytime you make the Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams look like “the greatest show on turf” you got problems.
Goff and the Rams jumped out and scored 14 points in the first quarter.
The Raiders defense looked inept and just down right poor in doing anything right. The only bright spot was Khalil Mack who made his mark, but the other ten made their mark in the wrong way.
The good news is that the Oakland Raiders offense looks like it’s still going to be one of the best in the NFL. David Carr and the first team offense were able to answer touchdowns for touchdowns.
As we talked about last week, the Dallas Cowboys first team offense was able to easily move the ball on the Indianapolis Colts. The first team went down the field and scored a touchdown on their first series.
They moved the ball down into the red zone again without much resistance, but Darren McFadden fumbled the ball to end the drive and that was it for the first team offense.
So, again, as we talked about last week if you picked the Cowboys to cover the spread you needed the first team offense to put up the points because once Kellen Moore took the field this offense was going to sputter. And low and behold that’s exactly what happened.
Kellen Moore couldn’t lead the Cowboys to a touchdown and it was a close game until Cooper Rush came in. Rush has been impressive and he should be the number two quarterback for the Cowboys. Rush came in and lead the Cowboys to a couple of touchdowns.
This week against the Raider I fully expect the first team offense to get plenty of reps and for them to move the ball against the Raiders. If the Cowboys still choose to give Moore the ball when the second team comes in, hopefully, it won’t be for long.

If you like offense this first half should be one of the more entertaining first halfs you’ll see in a preseason game. Both of these offenses should move the ball down the field without much resistance.
In fact, they might eclipse the over in just one half, and if you bet the over you better hope they do because the Cowboys won’t be making much noise if Moore plays a significant part of the second half.
On the other side, the Raiders aren’t any better with Connor Cook and E.J. Manuel behind center. So, beware of that, but it’s still the best bet in this game.
