Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET with QB Bryce Petty getting the start for the Jets with Tom Brady opposing him.
New York Jets
The Jets bet on Ryan Fitzpatrick, and the bet ultimately failed. Fitzpatrick has not been able to replicate the magic he had in 2015.
With his poor play being one of the reasons the just have just 4 wins on the season, Coach Todd Bowles elected to go with Bryce Petty as the starter 2 weeks ago.
How effective will Petty be? In the loss to the Dolphins last week he wasn’t good. He finished the game 20-36 for 235 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.
Petty’s main attribute is his ability to throw the deep ball, and the Patriots defense, while complex in their schemes, always seems to have issues in the secondary.
That being said I wouldn’t expect Petty to light up the scoreboard this week.
After having a strong mid-season stretch (Weeks 7-10) where he reached 80 or more rushing yards in 4 straight games, he has been shut down in every contest since.
He hasn’t reached 30 yards rushing in any of the last 4 games, and the limited QB play is allowing the opposing defense to load up the box and stop Forte.
The Patriots have strong run stuffing defensive lineman, so Forte will have another tough time making plays on the ground.

Due to poor QB play Brandon Marshall hasn’t been the dominant receiver we are accustomed to seeing. He caught just 1 of his 11 targets against the Dolphins, and has not had a 100 yard receiving game since October 9th.
He won’t break this dry spell against the Pats, as the offense will have a hard time moving the ball.
New England Patriots
Even after serving a 4 game suspension, Tom Brady has put up MVP numbers this season and is one of the favorites to win the award. He is averaging over 300 yards passing per game and has 22 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions on the season.
Brady still faces a tough defense, but with Darrelle Revis playing like a former shell of himself, Brady should throw for 4 touchdown passes on Saturday.
A poor game was expected of LeGarrette Blount facing the #1 run defense in Denver, but he still found the end zone for the third straight game.
A cold December game in Foxborough means Blount will get the ball early to wear the defense down, and late to close out the game. He will get 100 yards and a score on the ground.

The Patriots claimed Michael Floyd off of waivers, and it is expected he will be a key piece to the offense during the Pats playoff run.
The former 1st round pick out of Notre Dame is the most talented wide receiver Tom Brady has had since Randy Moss.
While he is still getting accustomed to the playbook look for Julian Edelman to make plays in the slot and grab 2 touchdown passes.
