The Dallas Cowboys were four point favorites heading into their game versus the New York Giants, but with Tony Romo going down the public has panicked and have gone all in on the Giants.

This is a massive overreaction by the public.
If you liked the Cowboys before the Tony Romo injury, then you should still like the Cowboys. This isn’t last year where the Cowboys had garbage leading the club.
Dak Prescott is already better than the likes of Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel, and Kellen Moore.
New York Giants
The New York Giants went full steam ahead in trying to improve on, statistically, one of the worst defenses in NFL history.
The Giants went out and signed Janoris Jenkins and drafted Eli Apple to help boost their secondary.
They didn’t stop there, they also went out and got Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison to help put more pressure on quarterbacks.

These are steps in the right direction, but this isn’t the final product.
They aren’t going to gel first game of the season. Maybe after a number of weeks and we are in the heart of the season they’ll start playing like one unit, but for now, no; they aren’t going to magically be one of the best defenses in the league.
On the offensive side of the ball, sure the Giants have Odell Beckham and Eli Manning, but their offensive line is still pretty weak.
Sterling Shepard is a talented wide receiver, but will he gel with Manning right away? Probably not.
Dallas Cowboys
When Tony Romo went down last year, the Cowboys season was over. For years now, I’ve been on the Romo bandwagon defending him and saying that if he goes down, the Cowboys are going down.
That fact came to be a reality last year when Romo went down and the Cowboys finished 4-12 with a record of 1-11 without Romo starting.
I could see why folks might have overreacted when Romo went down against Seattle last week. However, the Cowboys season isn’t lost there is still a reason to be optimistic about this Cowboy team.
Dak Prescott is more than capable of leading this club to wins for the simple reason as he has a very good team around him.
Prescott will have the best offensive line in football blocking for him, a strong halfback core running the ball, and a couple of reliable pass catchers in Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.

We also have to remember considering how pitiful the offense was last year, the Cowboys still competed and were in games until the 4th quarter.
However, the defense would eventual fold because of how long they were out on the field. Just an extra five minutes, an extra score would have made all the difference in the world.
And I most certainly believe Prescott can provide that.
Prescott doesn’t have to be great or even good. He just has to be decent and limit the mistakes and this team can win many games and be right in the thick of things for a playoff berth.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Dallas Cowboys ATS
Anytime you like a certain side and the public is on the other side, more often than not it’s a good thing. In this case, I like the Cowboys to win straight up. Dak Prescott is more than capable in handling whatever the Giants will throw at him.
Prescott was a Heisman candidate in college, he’s been impressive in all of training camp, and he was more than impressive in preseason.
In particular, getting thrown to the wolves against the Seattle Seahawks and acquitting himself very nicely.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Dallas 27 – New York 24
Also, let’s not forget, it all won’t be on Prescott. He has the best offensive line in football, an extremely talented halfback core and a solid enough wide receiver core led by Dez Bryant.
Prescott just needs to manage the game and not be a hero.
If he manages the game and limits the mistakes the Cowboys will win this game and be well on their way to winning the division. And those odds have only gotten juicier.
