Week 14 features a matchup between a pair of teams heading in the wrong direction. The New Orleans Saints will look to snap their 5-game losing streak and salvage their season when they travel to New York to take on the Jets.
The Saints have lost 5 straight games including back to back Thursday night games, most recently a 27-17 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Jets were unable to get a winning streak going and lost at home to Gardner Minshew and the Eagles 33-18.

New Orleans Saints
New Orleans season likely hangs in the balance of this weekends game against the Jets. The team that was once atop the NFC South division has now lost five straight games as major injuries have derailed this team’s season.
The Saints have had an extended period of time to prepare for this game as they last played on Thursday against Dallas. New Orleans defense did their best to keep them in the game but the New Orleans offense struggled once again without Alvin Kamara (knee) and both of the tackles.
Taysom Hill made his first start at quarterback on the season and it did not live up to expectations. Hill was rewarded a large contract extension just days prior but he appeared to have fleeced the organization with a shaky performance.
Hill completed just 19/41 passes for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His downfall was throwing 4 interceptions including a late game ending pick-6 with a comeback still possible. Hill was productive on the ground and finished far and away the teams leading rusher with 11 carries for 101 yards.
New York Jets
The Jets have not had anything close to a good season at all. We knew this team would lose a lot, so I cannot say the way they have played is surprising.
New York edged out the Houston Texans on the road by a score of 21-14 on Sunday. It was a battle of two of the worst teams in the league which the Texans took the crown for.
Even with the win on Sunday, I still do not have many positive things to say about them. As far as I am concerned, it is going to be more of the same for them as the year goes on.
In Zach Wilson’s return, he was 14/24 for 145 yards with 1 interception. He did not look all that good in that game, but that does not come as that big of a surprise because frankly, I am not as giddy with him as some people are.
The defense has been a disaster so far this year. Sure, they played well against the Texans, but should we all celebrate that performance?
NFL Betting Trends:
- New Orleans is 5-8 ATS this season
- New Orleans O/U are 6-6 this season
- Jets are 5-16 SU in their last 21 games
- Jets are 3-9 ATS this season
- Jets OVERS are 7-5 this season
4* Free Week 14 NFL Betting Prediction: New York +5.5
New Orleans is one of the coldest teams in the league yet they have been given a generously large spread in this game. The Saints have been favored by five points or more three times this season and have not covered the spread in any of them.
The Jets are one of the worst teams in the league but they have looked more promising in recent weeks. Zach Wilson has returned from injury and he has shown flashes of the potential which got him drafted #2 overall.
New Orleans is the better team top down but I don’t trust them in covering this spread on the road.
Take the Jets at MetLife.
