Sunday Night Football will have a little different vibe to it as defending division champions square off.
What should have been a Carson Palmer vs. Tom Brady night, turns into a Carson Palmer vs. Jimmy Garoppolo matchup.
New England Patriots
New England will enter this season with a much different feeling.
The NFC East division champions last season saw QB Tom Brady get suspended for 4 games this past offseason for an incident that happened over a year ago.
Jimmy Garoppolo will get the QB duties for 4 games, hoping to show why he is a valuable backup to Tom Brady.
Garoppolo has appeared in 11 regular season games, with none of those being starts in his career. He has just one TD that came nearly 2 years ago, while he’s completed just 20 passes in his backup time.
The good news for him stems from having a couple big targets that he can find out wide.
TE Rob Gronkowski enters play looking for his 3rd 1000 yard season. Gronk posted 11 touchdowns last season and averaged over 16 yards per receptions.
Look for Garoppolo to use him more underneath to pick up yardage as the Pats will try to get into manageable 3rd down situations.
He’ll also look to Julian Edelman deep down field. Edelman is back to 100% healthy and will be a target for Garaoppolo in long yardage situations.
Arizona has been the team to beat in the past couple seasons in the NFC West.
QB Carson Palmer has completely turned this team around, as the 36 year old QB started all 16 games last season.
He finished 4th in the NFL last year in total yards, posting 4671. He also added 35 touchdowns to his credit, as Palmer simply has put himself in the top tier of QBs in the NFL.
What helps Palmer out so much is the dynamic trio of Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd.
With the help of the run game from David Johnson, Arizona has one of the most threatening offenses in all of the NFL.
Johnson averaged 4.6 yards per carry and even helped out the receiving corp, posting 12.7 yards per reception.
Look for him to be a giant key here in this one against a very talented New England front.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: New England +6
While this team is obviously completely different without Brady calling the shots, there is one thing you should never doubt when it comes to the Pats.
Bill Belichick is one of the best coaches in the game. He’ll have a gameplan ready to go and execute it to perfection here, despite having to use a backup QB.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Arizona 27 – New England 24
The Patriots have a chance to steal this one, but ultimately fall just short while covering the number.
