This is a battle between two teams that are playing very differently from one another right about now.
Despite still not having a great record, Las Vegas has been better of late and have won 3 in a row, while the Rams just continue to drop games, as their streak is now at 6.
This game really does not mean a ton for the Rams, but the same cannot be said for the Raiders who are still playing for something this season. The chances of Vegas making the postseason are still very low, but it is not a total impossibility.
In this spot, the away team is a 6-point favorite with a total of 44.5.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders got off to a horrible start in the 2022 season, but they played better of late and will need to keep that up in this tilt here.
After dropping an embarrassing game to the Colts, this club has rattled off three victories in a row and find themselves with a record of 5-7.
During this streak, I feel their most impressive win came on Sunday when they took down the Chargers 27-20 in an important divisional matchup.
Unlike the previous week against the Seahawks, the defense really stepped up against Los Angeles, as they did a solid job of keeping a tough offense in check.
On offense, the star players showed up in a big way with Josh Jacobs having another great game on the ground and Davante Adams tallying more than 170 yards and hauling in 2 touchdowns.
As they hit the road, they have a good opportunity to really take care of a Rams team that is undermanned and not playing well at all.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams kept up their losing ways on Sunday with a 27-23 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks and they now sit with a record of 3-9.
I get they have dealt with a lot this season, but it is still amazing to think they were the Super Bowl Champions not too long ago. Fast forward to now and they look like a team that is totally lost with no identity at all.
With Matthew Stafford likely out for the season, it is hard to imagine that Los Angeles is going to get any sort of decent quarterback play for the remainder.
Bryce Perkins clearly did not get the job done in the previous week against Kansas City and it was no different for John Wolford on Sunday. I was actually surprised they kept it as close as they did with Seattle.
Los Angeles will look to put an end to their losing streak on TNF when they host the Raiders, but it is hard to see that happening given how poorly this squad has been playing and how devoid of talent they are at the moment.
Even if Las Vegas does not play a great game, it would be hard for me to imagine that it is not enough to pull off the win against a team that is broken.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Raiders are 5-17 ATS in their last 22 games in week 14.
- Raiders are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning record.
- Raiders are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
- Rams are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games played in December.
- Rams are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games at home.
4* Free Week 14 NFL Betting Prediction: Rams +6
This certainly is an ugly one given the type of team the Rams have been this season, but I do feel they can at least be competitive in a game like this.
I have been impressed by what the Raiders have done of late and I would expect them to keep up their winning ways, but I do not love them laying this number on the road.
All season long, Las Vegas has really not been the type of team to beat the opponent handily and I feel that will keep up on Thursday.
Similar to what LA did get against the Seahawks, I think they will hang around but will not have enough firepower to finish it off.
