Originally, the Texans opened as slim -122 favorites, with the Jaguars listed at +102. That’s changing fast. With Stroud sidelined, expect Jacksonville to close as the betting favorite.
The total sits at 47.5 points, but that may drop as the Texans’ offense adjusts to life without their starter.
The Jaguars’ form has been up and down. They stunned Kansas City in Week 5 but followed with losses to the Rams and Seahawks. This team can beat anyone when focused — but they’ve struggled to maintain consistency week to week.
Houston’s also been a rollercoaster. They dominated the 49ers two weeks ago before falling flat against Denver.

The Houston Texans are now in survival mode. Last season, they ranked 18th in scoring and 21st in passing yards, with a middling ground game.
Defensively, though, they were impressive — 4th in sacks (49) and 2nd in interceptions (19) — and that disruptive energy remains their calling card.
Without C.J. Stroud or Joe Mixon (still sidelined with a lingering foot injury from the offseason), Houston’s offense takes a big hit.
