Handicapping NFL Futures
It’s a new year in the AFC South, but things still look the same as they have in previous seasons. The Colts came close to making the Super Bowl after a deflating loss to New England. They spent the offseason re-loading and adding to their already talented roster.

AFC South Overview
In reality, the Colts don’t have a whole lot of competition this season within the division. Tennessee and Jacksonville are trying to get their teams in order while Houston keeps getting dealt with setbacks (injuries and lack of skilled QB). For those reasons, Indianapolis is the overwhelming favorite to take the AFC South crown.
Why Indianapolis will have the most wins in the AFC South
A lot can be said for the competition the Colts will face within the division. Enough can’t be said about the talent the Colts possess as opposed to the rosters of their division rivals. The offseason saw the additions of several veteran players.

The team picked up running back Frank Gore from San Francisco, wide receiver Andre Johnson from Houston, defensive tackle Kendall Langford from St Louis, linebacker Nate Irving from Denver and offensive lineman Todd Herremans and linebacker Trent Cole from Philadelphia.
They added another weapon in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft in Miami wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

When you combine those offensive pieces with quarterback Andrew Luck, receiver TY Hilton, tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener, receiver Donte Moncrief with an offensive line with a strong balance of both veterans and talented youth, you get quite possibly the best offense in the NFL.
Throw in a talented defense that features starters from other teams as backups (Greg Toler, Sio Moore, Darius Butler) on this Colts squad and you have a well-balanced team not only looking at making a run through the AFC South, but the entire AFC.
October 18th will be circled on every Colts player calendars as they face off against the Super Bowl Champion Patriots in what will be a grudge match from last year’s AFC Championship and a possible playoff preview for this season.
They also face off against fellow AFC division winners Pittsburgh and Denver, which could also be playoff previews for this year.
Prediction: 12-4
Indianapolis has 6 easier games this season among their division rivals. They also face struggling squads like Bills, Jets and Buccaneers with two of those being at home. Up-and-coming Miami and Atlanta will push the Colts to their limit, putting their potent offense to the test.

The difficult challenge will begin with teams like New Orleans, who has to visit Indianapolis this season, and the Panthers who the Colts will have to take on in Carolina.
Their potential losses will come from their trip to Pittsburgh and their hosting of the Patriots. Though that only equals two losses, it is easy to add a loss or two because of a stumble or flat out bad week against the likes of the Dolphins, Saints and Panthers.
Needless to say, these Colts have a long road ahead of them. With their roster depth and talent-laden squad, they aren’t too worried.
