Week 13 of the NFL season sees the Denver Broncos visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
In the previous week, the Chargers got the win and the Chiefs had a bye week.
Kansas City opened up as a 9.5 point favorite and that number is now up to 10. The total has gone from 50.5 to 47.5.
Denver Broncos
With a record of 6-5, this Broncos team has had a solid season so far. They would like to be a little more consistent, but they are still in the mix for the AFC West.
Denver picked up an impressive win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday by a score of 28-13. Not a lot of people had them covering that game, let alone winning it.
To me, this team is still hard to figure out. You never truly know what to expect from them a week to week.
On Sunday, Teddy Bridgewater was 11/18 for 129 yards with 1 touchdown pass. He, along with the whole offense will have their hands full when they try and score points on this tough Kansas City defense.
I have been impressed with the way this defense has played this year, especially so in their win over the Chargers. Keeping an offense like that to only 13 points is no easy task. It will be interesting to see if they can keep this Chiefs team in check on Sunday night.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have still had a good year so far in 2021. They may not be as dominant as some would have thought, but they will likely be in the mix when all is said and done.
Kansas City last played on November 21st, where they beat the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 19-9. The type of win was not one that we have become used to seeing them get, but it was still an impressive victory over a good team.
A lot of people overreacted and said this team was done for when they had some struggles earlier on. Now, a lot of those same folks are once again high on them.
Patrick Mahomes has not played great this year, but it is not like he is some average quarterback. He is still very much one of the best in football.
The defense for this team got a lot of criticism earlier on in the year, but it really has been a lot better as of late. Their last game is a good example of that. Holding a Dallas team to only 9 points is an impressive feat.

Denver has not enjoyed playing the Chiefs as of late. As shown in the trends above, they are 0-10 SU in their last 10 games against the Chiefs. After this thing is over on Sunday, I would not be surprised if it is 11 straight losses to them.
Even if the Broncos do not win this game, I do feel they can cover as dogs here. I do not see them as a team that is going to fold up when they play at Arrowhead under the bright lights. I expect them to be competitive in a very important divisional game.
The Chiefs’ struggles against the spread are well known at this point. For me, 10 points are too high to lay. I can see this being a close, competitive type of game.
Give me the Broncos getting 10 points on the road in this one.
