Losers of two straight, both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Both will look to finish their season strong as the Dallas Cowboys meet with the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon.
Dallas has had their fair share of injuries to deal with, causing them to really struggle this season. Buffalo bounced back and forth between good and bad, but eventually the rope ran out on them after they showed off their bad side in their last two losses.
The Cowboys started the season off 2-0 and then pretty much everything started tanking for them.
WR Dez Bryant and QB Tony Romo both suffered injuries, causing the Cowboys to drop 7 in a row. Romo and Bryant both returned and the Cowboys managed to somehow sit 2.5 games out of the NFC East lead. Romo led the Cowboys to a win in Miami, but then once again was injured on Thanksgiving Day against Carolina, ultimately ending the Cowboys season.
Dallas will now turn to rookie Kellen Moore out of Boise State for his first career start on Sunday. Dallas was going with Matt Cassel for quite some time, but his struggles and losses finally became too much last week.
Cassel was benched in the loss to the Jets and Moore was called upon.
Moore clearly showed some nerves as he finished 15 of 25 with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.
The Bills had some solid wins this year with Rex Ryan calling the shots.
They looked like a much improved team, but their season came to an end last week when Kirk Cousins torched them. Cousins finished with 5 touchdowns and had 3 on the Redskins’ first 3 possessions to really put this game away.
With the elimination, this marked the 16th straight season the Bills will miss out on the playoffs, which is the longest drought in the NFL.
QB Tyrod Taylor had another solid showing as he finished with 235 yards and Sammy Watkins catching two touchdown passes.
RB LeSean McCoy was announced out for the season, which will give Watkins some running duties in the final 2 weeks.
