Before the season began a Pickett vs. Burrow matchup sure sounded better than what we’re getting this week didn’t it?
The Steelers came out on top with a 16-10 win in their initial matchup against Bengals this season.
Taking the point spread into account, Steelers were the favorites by -2 and they covered it with a 6 point victory.
The over/under line going into the game was 36 points, which the teams fell short of.
The game was a big deal. The Steelers played their first game after Coach Matt Canada was let go, the first time they changed a coach mid-season since 1941.
They gained 421 yards, finally breaking a 58-game streak of not reaching 400 yards. But they only scored 16 points? What’s up with that?
Last week, the Bungles announced they are still in the game! UW’s Jake Browning clinched his third straight win in an exciting comeback. Evan McPherson’s 29-yard field goal in overtime secured a 27-24 victory over the Vikings. Browning lit it up in the 4th and in OT (184 YDS, 2 TD’s).
Last week for the Steelers was a day to forget. The Colts whooped em’. And improved their playoff prospects with a 30-13 win over the sagging Steelers on Saturday.
The Steelers are ahead in their overall head-to-head record, 69 wins to 39 vs. Cinci, so they have that going for them. They’ve faced off in the playoffs twice, with the Steelers winning both times in 2005 and 2015.

4* Free Week 16 NFL Betting Prediction: Pittsburgh +2.5
Oh, wow. Is this for real? I’m not so sure. Are you? The Steelers are looking for a fresh start this season, and they’re giving Mason Rudolph a chance. Rudolph, who hasn’t started a game in almost two years, said on Tuesday that he’s ready and experienced enough to take on the Bengals.
I don’t know why, but Pittsburgh is my choice on the spread at +2.5. I expect the Pittsburgh rushing attack to take advantage of the Cincinnati defense, which struggled to defend the run in their recent game.
This just has the feel of a game that a FG wins it on the last play of the game. Your typical AFC North matchup with two backup QB’s. Happy times.
Cincinnati has won 60% of the games this season when it is a ML favorite. (6-4)
Don’t miss out on Pittsburgh at +2.5. Even though I have Cinci to win straight up.
Not only does our model have a projected total of 40 points in this matchup, but the eye test has me feeling this line of 38.5 is low.
I like the Bengals and Steelers to exceed 47 points.
