The undefeated Panthers come in as a PK on the road against the Dallas Cowboys for some Thanksgiving action on Thursday.
Dallas couldn’t find a win without Tony Romo at QB, but as soon as he returned, the Cowboys looked like the team of old. Romo led the Cowboys to their 3rd win and kept them in the division race as they look for a home win here on Thursday.
The Panthers are making it look easier and easier every week. No matter who is put in front of them, QB Cam Newton and the Panthers have no problem staving them off.
Washington was the latest victim of the Panthers as they were trounced 44-16 on Sunday. While the Panthers have made things look easy all season long, Sunday was probably their best all around performance of the season.
Carolina now has won their last 3 games by an average of 17 plus points and are one of the best ATS for backers as they are 8-2 on the season.
Newton finished with 4 TDs in the first half alone, and added a 2nd half won to total a career high with 5.
Along with Newton, Jonathan Stewart is contributing just as much. Stewart is averaging 96.5 rush yards over the last two games. When he gets things going consistently, this offense becomes pretty much unstoppable.
First they tried Brandon Weeden, then they tried Matt Cassel. Neither worked out and the Cowboys went into an immediate down spiral without Tony Romo at QB.
At 2-7 and not having grabbed any wins while Romo was out, the Cowboys finally got back in the win column last week in Miami. The difference? Tony Romo returned. While his first pass was left handed from his own end zone, things went extremely well for Romo in his return.
The Cowboys QB finished with 227 yards on 18/28 passing with two touchdowns. He did throw a pair of interceptions as well.
The run game has also been extremely efficient for the Cowboys. RB Darren McFadden finished with 129 yards rushing in the win over Miami and has really taken to that #1 spot on the depth chart.
The Cowboys defense has also been able to keep this team in games, especially as of late. Dallas has allowed just 28 points over the past 3 games combined.
