The Ravens and 49ers both come in off disappointing losses and are looking to rebound as they attempt to get back into their respective division races.
Baltimore blew a lead against the Browns and saw them knock a game winning field goal through the uprights in overtime as they Ravens sit in last in the AFC North.
The 49ers nearly had a major upset on Sunday Night Football, but after an interception was overturned, the Giants found the endzone with less than 30 seconds left to secure a win.
The Ravens were a quarter away last season from moving on to the AFC Championship, but blew a late lead against the Patriots.
Now, they have a tremendous mountain to climb up as they have started the season 1-4 after blowing a lead against Cleveland. After leading 27-22 with just 5 minutes left, the Browns found the endzone and converted the 2 point conversion to go up by 3.
QB Joe Flacco led the Ravens down the field in a goal to go situation, but questionable play calling resulted in a game tying field goal and an eventual loss in overtime.
Flacco finished 19 of 35 for 210 yards and a touchdowns. Flacco was sacked just once in the loss.
The thin Ravens receiving core struggle without their leader, Steve Smith Sr, out there with him. WR Kamar Aiken finished with just 4 receptions on 9 targets and compiled 78 yards.
RB Justin Forsett remains questionable for Sunday’s game as he continues to battle a leg injury that forced him out of Sunday’s game in the 4th quarter. Should be he not be able to go, rookie Javorious Allen will get the nod.
Allen had a 44 yard rush in the 3rd quarter against Cleveland.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have shown very little life this season in terms of their offensive firepower, but they showcased a some on Sunday Night Football.
QB Colin Kaepernick led an 80 yard 4th quarter drive to give the 49ers a 27-23 lead with just 2 minutes to go. However, Eli Manning came right back and led the Giants into the end zone after an interception was overturned for hitting the ground as the 49ers fell in heart breaking fashion
Kaepernick finished 23 of 35 for 262 yards and threw for a pair of touchdowns. His main target Sunday was WR Anquan Boldin, who finished with 8 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown.
RB Carlos Hyde had a solid performance as he finished with 93 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.
The 49ers are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 at home.
