Both team’s opening games featured a lot of late dramatics as the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants meet on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
The visitors from Atlanta used a late missed field goal from the Eagles to propel themselves to a 26-24 win.
The Giants had a devastating loss as they saw Tony Romo hook up with Jason Witten with just 6 seconds remaining to steal a 27-26 win.
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM EST.
The Falcons looked like a team on mission, especially early on the defensive end.
The Eagles high flying attack was getting no where against the Falcons defense in the first half as Atlanta led 20-3 at the half.
The key to the Falcon’s victory came from WR Julio Jones. The WR is currently getting paid 71.25 million dollars from the Falcons and it’s been worth every penny. Jones had 9 receptions for 141 yards to go a long with 2 touchdowns in the Falcons Week 1 win.
QB Matt Ryan finished 23 of 34 with 298 yards and a pair of interceptions to go with those 2 Julio Jones touchdowns.
The Giants were on the opposite end of the late dramatics, as they failed to hold off the Cowboys in a 27-26 loss.
New York took a 10 point lead into the 4th quarter and had a chance to close things out late, but a failed 3rd down attempt gave Tony Romo the ball and ultimately the win.
Eli Manning struggled in his opener as he had just 193 yards and no touchdowns.
His impact receivers really played no part in the loss either as they all played subpar. Odell Beckham Jr had just 5 receptions for 44 yards.
The Giants run game also lacked a lot as Shane Vereen as he struggled to find any gaps in the defensive line and had only 46 yards receiving.
