Two NFC South rivals will face off for the first time this year when the Falcons visit the Buccaneers.
This is the 2nd home game played for the Buccaneers this year.
Tampa Bay is currently a 12.5 point favorite in this one and I would not be surprised to see this go up. Both of these squads did not cover the spread in week 1.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons were a 3.5 point favorite against the Eagles in week 1 and not only did they not cover, they got crushed. Philadelphia beat them 32-6.
Matt Ryan was 21/35 with 164 yards. He will have to be much better in week 2 if they are going to beat the defending champs.
The Atlanta defense had no success in containing Jalen Hurts on Sunday. He went 27/35 and threw 3 touchdown passes. If they could not slow him down, how on Earth will they slow down Tom Brady?
The running game was not that impressive against the Eagles. Mike Davis carried the ball 15 times for 49 yards which averaged to a little over 3 yards a carry.
This team is going to have to figure things out quick if they are going to even compete with the Bucs. If not, they could be in for a long day on Sunday afternoon.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers also did not cover the spread in week 1 as they were 7.5 point favorites against the Cowboys, but they did the most important thing which is to win. They topped the Cowboys 31-29 in what was a thrilling game.
Tampa was in control for a good portion of the game, but turnovers let the Cowboys back in it. Tampa very easily could have walked away with an 0-1 record.
As he has done so many times, Tom Brady led a comeback with just over a minute to go. He marched his team down the field and set up a game winning field goal. On Thursday, he went 32/50 for 379 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
For as good as the offense was, the defense was another story. Dak Prescott was 42/58 for 403 yards and 3 touchdowns. This unit certainly did not have the performance they did in the Super Bowl where they held the Chiefs to 3 field goals. I look for the defense to get lots of pressure on Matt Ryan on Sunday.
If the Bucs can have a similar performance on offense, then I feel they should be in very good shape to knock off the Falcons.

4* Free Week 2 NFL Betting Prediction: Tampa SU
I get that the Buccaneers are a much better team than the Falcons are, but 12.5 is a high number. I am not saying they cannot cover it, but I feel more comfortable with them winning outright than I do with them winning by 13 or more. I look for the offense to be very explosive and for the defense to do a good job containing Matt Ryan. I am going with the Bucs here.
