The Dolphins season looks pretty much over at this point. If you can’t beat the Jaguars then what chance do you have of coming back from a 1-5 start to the season.
Atlanta’s prospects are much better even though they have just one win. They have a chance of posting the second-best record in the NFC South.
Neither of these teams is very good. Still, it was a little surprising that the Dolphins are not even favored at home.
Atlanta Falcons
After starting 0-2 the Falcons have gone 2-1, beating the Giants and Jets. That is not very impressive, especially with both being close games.
First-year head coach Arthus Smith is supposed to be an offensive guru but so far he has not gotten much out of the Falcons. They are 20th in yards and 23rd in points scored.
On the positive, rookie TE Kyle Pitts had his best game of the year last week scoring his first TD while catching 9 balls for 119 yards. Maybe they have finally figured out how to use him.
Improved offense is only going to take this team so far. They are second to last in the league in points allowed this season, almost 30ppg. They just can’t seem to make any progress on that side of the ball.
Atlanta is just 2-3 ATS this season. That includes 1-1 as a favorite. Per the intro, it is hard to make this team a road favorite against anyone. Backing bad teams is always difficult.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins were in London last weekend and that must have been a long trip home after losing to the Jaguars the way they did.
Tua Tagovailoa was back in the lineup and had a strong game with 329 yards passing. I am still not sold on his potential given the opponent but he was slinging it around more than he was before getting hurt.
Miami still has no rushing attack to speak of. I know teams do not commit to running the way they used to but they have to try and get some balance there. Tua is not at a level, nor does he have the weapons, to win games with his arm.
The defense allowed Trevor Lawrence to have one of the best games of his rookie season and overall has been a huge disappointment this year. This is a game where they should not be overmatched.
Miami is 0-2 SUATS at home this season. Given the state of the team, it is hard to predict better results. They have lost by a combined score of 62-17 at Hard Rock Stadium.

4* Free Week 7 NFL Betting Prediction: Miami +2.5
I have to admit I don’t have a ton of confidence with this play. How can you with either side though.
The Dolphins are not a good team but are they as bad as they showed in London? How much of the travel situation is built into this handicap?
I am sure there are some numbers about fading teams off the London trip and the Dolphins might not have been wise about not following it up with the bye week.
Still to fade a home dog you have to believe in the other side a little bit and I don’t. Atlanta has one more win than Miami this season but otherwise not much going for it.
I do think this is going to be a popular play so you probably don’t want to wait on it. People will be targeting it in teasers too.
Take the Dolphins to win this one by a smidge.
