2023 NFL Opening Day, do you remember it? I do. The Falcons and Panthers faced off for the first time, and it was Falcons who clinched a 24-10 win. On the point-spread, the Falcons went in as the favorite (-3.5) and they secured a 14 point win, picking up an ATS win.

This gave the Atlanta rookie early bragging rights over Carolina’s Bryce Young as the Falcons started their season with an impressive victory.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Ridder at QB. This game was a challenge for him too! He faced four sacks and concluded the game with a 15-of-18 passing record, accumulating only 116 yards. What’s in store this week?

Even as 3 point underdogs at home, I’m backing them to cover against Atlanta. CALL ME CRAZY! The Panthers held the Saints to 3/10 on 3rd down, and if they can do that to Atlanta (a similar %) they’ll be OK in this one. But let’s not talk about the spread much.

My big play for Sunday is going to be the total. 

For this matchup, I’m going to be hammering the under, as our model has Atlanta and Carolina combining for 33 points.
