The Chicago Bears have some extra rest after a win over Thanksgiving on Thursday, and those few additional days may be needed to prep for a possible return from Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray. The win over Detroit snapped a five game losing streak for the Bears – but that’s also the 0-10-1 Lions.
Arizona would welcome Murray back so he can get some work before next Monday night’s visit from the Rams. With the 9-2 Cardinals possibly able to put away the 7-4 Rams with a win and a season sweep next week, that also puts Arizona in the dangerous ‘look ahead’ spot.
Arizona Cardinals
Both Murray (ankle) and DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) have missed the last three games, yet Arizona has been able to tread water with a 2-1 record over that span. It’s been a weird stretch too as they’ve won games at San Francisco and Seattle, yet lost at home to Carolina.
This could be a dangerous spot for Arizona, going on the road for the third time in the last four games and possibly looking ahead to the Rams. Throw in Murray being a bit rusty/not 100% against Chicago’s defense that is 2nd in sacks and that’s a recipe for disaster.
The Bears also have the extra couple days of rest after playing last Thursday and the early forecast is calling for temperatures to be in the 30s with some light rain. Arizona had their bye last week though, so that’s an additional week to get Murray and Hopkins rehabbed for this game.
On the chance that Murray doesn’t go or if Kliff Kingsbury wants to save him for the Rams game, then Colt McCoy would get the keys to the offense again. The veteran has played well with a 75.6% completion rate and had 328 yards and 2 TD in a 23-13 win in Seattle two weeks ago.
Chicago Bears
The Bears by no means looked good on Thanksgiving, yet they still squeaked out a 16-14 win in Detroit. The Lions are horrible, but it was still a win over a division rival on a short week.
Chicago may not be as bad as their 4-7 record looks, because they had Baltimore (with a backup QB) on the ropes until a last minute drive and should have won the Steelers game that they dropped 29-27. The Bears have a win, and two losses by a combined 5 points over their last three games.
Andy Dalton will likely get the nod at QB again as rookie Justin Fields recovers from broken ribs. Dalton was 24/39 with 317 yards passing on Thursday, but once again that was against the Lions. The Cardinals are a top 5 team vs. the pass (204.0 ypg).
Chicago ran the ball 29 times vs. the Lions which is what fans have wanted to see for the better part of two years, but they still managed just 68 rush yards. The Panthers were able to beat the Cardinals thanks to 166 rush yards so pounding the ball should be the Bears game plan.

4* Free Week 13 NFL Betting Prediction: Bears +8
It’s undeniable that Arizona is the better team here, but they’ve also got a lot going on right now. It’s unsure who starts at QB for the Cardinals and there’s been some noise in the locker room that Kliff Kingsbury could be leaving to coach a college team.
Arizona is also looking ahead to the Rams on MNF next week. That doesn’t necessarily mean they lose this game, but the Bears have a great chance of keeping this one close.
The Bears are actually better with the more experienced Andy Dalton at QB, and he’s on a one year deal so this is a tryout.
