I have some news and it pertains to this game so I hope you can handle it‽ So after I give you the play for this game I have a little story to tell you all.
All right, that should keep you thinking a little so let’s talk Big 12 hoops.
The West Virginia Mountaineers simply struggle against ranked teams and here they are on the road against the 18th ranked Red Raiders. The line setters threw out a big line for this contest although I was a bit surprised to see it come out at -8.5-9 points for Tech to destroy this team.
Hey, I get it, because every time this Mountaineer program has faced a quality team they have simply not shown up. All right, sure they gave Baylor a fight last time out but a 77 – 68 final score doesn’t really tell us how that gam really went, but the bottom line is wins and losses.
Tech just exacted some revenge on Iowa State last time out as they lost their first meeting with the Cyclones but responded with a 72 – 60 win this past Tuesday night. The victory improved the Red Raiders record to 4 – 2 in Big 12 play and this team has won all 11 games played in this building this season.
West Virginia Mountaineers
All right, well Baylor still almost took the win over West Virginia by double-digits but West Virginia, at least, showed up this time. Sure, the game got away late and Baylor only used 7 players to cruise past the Mountaineers last time out.
Huggy Bear only has 2 players to come off his bench as well, and that is going to be the end-all for this team as the rest of the season unfolds. Depth? Yeah, let’s call it shallow water, and getting this team in foul trouble will basically destroy this team’s chances to get a W.
The 12 – 1 start to the campaign is so far in the rear-view mirror at this point that no one even cares about it anymore. When Big 12 play began this team got humbled quite quickly and this could be another long afternoon in a building that no one has gone to find wins.
This offense is a complete mess and now they have to try to find success against a top-10 defense? Really?
Listen, Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil played 39 minutes each against Baylor, and they will have to likely do the same to give this team a fighting chance. You don’t think that Tech is aware of who they need to shut down? Yeah, you keep thinking that!
Texas Tech Red Raiders
This season has been filled with home-court dominance and the Red Raiders are just another program that wins on their home court at any cost. Oh, Kansas tried to walk in here and play hoops so you can ask them how it feels to lose here, and oops? Is that Baylor that was handed an L by this team IN THEIR HOUSE?
Yes, this Tech team plowed into Waco and told Baylor that they aren’t good enough so you know why the line setters are giving the Mountaineers no chance here either.
Speaking of Kansas, well, well. Lookie who is on deck for the Red Raiders, it’s the Jayhawks again but in their barn this time, and then they get to try to exact some revenge on Kansas State who accounts for the only loss on the Tech schedule since that first Iowa State loss on January 5.
That still leaves the Red Raiders at 4 – 1 over the last 5 games and this defense is too legit to… give up. Oh, I got ya there, I know, LoL
Chew on this… 9th in the nation in defensive FG percentage holding opponents to 37.7% shooting. 8th in the nation on the glass taking in 26.3 boards a night under their own rim. 12th in the nation allowing only 58.7 PPG and that makes life fucking difficult for any team, on any night, on any floor!
Now, they get their own fans to go ballistic, and hey, did you hear what the genius kids did this past week? Oh, Texas!! Deep in the heart of Texas! So, the fans found a glitch in the website that hands out tickets for the game when Texas and the Red Raiders get together on February 1.
When Texas hosts this team on February 1, there will be a redder color in the crowd than burnt orange because the Red Raider fans are going to LITERALLY barnstorm the Longhorns seats. So cool, and why you ask?
Oh, no. if you don’t know why Texas and Texas Tech all of a sudden have this rivalry at full boar? Start with the coaches and get back to me, LoL

I am calling this game on Saturday!! Hey, that is some kinda news about becoming a sportscaster on the Colorcast App with my first game being this one. That is why I took this game here so I can break out a play and talk about it on the air at noon. I am the Pill Caller on the App, so if you are looking for me? Hey, now you know.
Well, I am thinking about this total because of the fact that West Virginia can’t slow down ANYONE! This is not UAB and/or Kent State anymore, Toto!
Tech is going to smash this poor club to bits and the 15-point win will lead to the over cruising in for us. It will be close and I expect a slow first-half, but fouls and late points should get us to the number.
