The Washington Huskies will travel to Boulder and take on the Colorado Buffaloes this Sunday afternoon for a PAC-12 battle.
HISTORY: Washington leads the all-time series here 18-13, but Colorado has won two of the last three meetings.
Colorado will be favored to win at home here.
Washington Huskies
Washington took a few bumps during non-conference play, but they blessed bettors with a +350 road victory over Utah on Tuesday.
The Huskies have struggled to score at times this season, but they have one of the best point producers in the PAC-12 in Terrell Brown Jr. The Seattle bred scorer leads UW with 21.4 ppg, and they often have gone as far as he can take them. Brown Jr’s 28 points against his former school Arizona was impressive, and the Huskies will need more of that here.
Tacoma native Emmitt Matthews Jr. also came home this past offseason and he’s fit in well early. The WVU transfer is second on the team in both scoring (11.1) and rebounding (4.8), and he double-doubled in the win over Seattle. Fellow transfer guard Daejon Davis scored 16 points in the win over Utah.
Jamal Bey returned for his senior season, and although he’s taken a bit of a back seat this season, the veteran guard remains a threat to explode on any given night.
Nate Roberts leads the Huskies in rebounding (6.2).
Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado opened PAC-12 play with a win over Washington State, marking their tenth victory of the season. The Buffaloes trailed at halftime, but rallied late in the second half to pick up the victory, 83-78.
The Buffaloes score 71.9 ppg, and possess a strong rebounding team.
Jabari Walker is really beginning to come into his own in year two. The 6’9 sophomore posted four straight double-doubles to end November, and he scored 16 points in the win over Washington State. Walker leads the team in both scoring (13.5) and rebounding (8.1), and could be an all PAC-12 player this season.
Walker messes well with frontcourt mate Evan Battey, as the 259-pound senior command the attention in the middle. Battey scored a season-high 20 points in the win over the Cougars, but foul trouble has plagued him over the past few weeks.
Sophomores Keeshawn Barthelemy and Tristan da Silva have seen their roles grow in year two as well. Barthelemy orchestrates the offense, and averages a well-rounded 11.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and a team-leading 2.8 apg.
CBB Betting Trends:
- Washington is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog.
- Colorado is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games.
- Under is 10-2 in Buffaloes last 12 as a favorite.
Free Washington Huskies vs. Colorado Buffaloes NCAAB Prediction: Marquette to Win
Washington provided loyal bettors with a gem Tuesday, but they may they not find things as easy this weekend in Boulder.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Marquette ML
The Huskies will enter this one undersized and they may not have an answer for Evan Battey down low. The Buffaloes will look to force a inefficient UW team into playing at their rugged pace, and a grind-it-out contest won’t fair well for the visitors. Colorado’s strong start carried into conference play, and that trend should build and continue here.
Take Colorado’s spread Sunday, as they could be the lock of the day.
