The season finale between the Wildcats and the Rams will decide the A-10 regular-season title as VCU and St. Bonaventure are tied for first place right now in the standings. If the Rams can nudge out a win they will have won at least a share of the A-10 title, but the Wildcats will try to play spoiler on Kellen Grady’s senior night.
Davidson is currently on a two-game losing streak after dropping a home and home with the Bonnies last week, while VCU held off Saint Louis 67-65 in their last contest.
VCU Rams
VCU got back on the winning track on Tuesday with a narrow 67-65 victory at home against Saint Louis after getting upset by George Mason the week prior. Adrian Baldwin Jr. had 15 points filling in for the electric Bones Hyland. The freshman has a bright future on this team if Hyland decides to leave the program. He drained four foul shots in the final minute to put the Rams on top and secure the win over the Billikens.
Mike Rhoades’ squad comes into the final weekend of the A10 season ranked No. 44 in the latest KenPom rankings. According to Bracketologist Joe Lunardi, VCU will need to finish the season strong to ensure that it ends up on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble.
The Rams have turned the ball over 21.0 percent of the time, which ranks 13th in the A10, and they sport an effective field goal percentage of just 49.0 percent during league play
As a team, VCU averages 72.95 points per game this season which is 136th in the nation. They shoot 45.27% from the field and average 33.64% from behind the three-point line.
They surrender an average of 65.23 points per game which is 135th in the country. Opponents are shooting 40.63% from the field when facing the Rams and 29.40% from beyond the arc.
Davidson Wildcats
Davidson was swept in its home-and-home series against St. Bonvanture, falling short 56-53 at home on Wednesday night. Carter Collins scored a team-high 16 points while Luka Brajkovic contributed 12 points for the Wildcats. Kellan Grady really struggled to find his shot and I wouldn’t expect two bad performances in a row from the Wildcats senior.
This will be Kellan Grady’s last game in Belk arena so expect a big performance from the senior on the night. The Wildcat’s leader averages 17.0 points per game to lead the teamin scoring. He is shooting 48.03% from the floor and 40.3% beyond the arc on the season. Sophomore sharpshooter Hyungjung Lee is the team’s second-leading scorer chipping in 13.4 points per game. He is cashing in on 43.8% of his three-point attempts this season.
The Wildcats are averaging 72.33 points per game but only 69.0 points in conference games this season which is 10th in the A-10. On average, they are shooting 47.53% from the floor and 36.07% from beyond the arc.
On the defensive side of the ball, Davidson gives up an average of 63.78 points per game which is 45th in the nation. Opponents are shooting just 42.07% from the floor and only 34.56% from three-point range.

Free VCU Rams vs. Davidson Wildcats NCAAB Prediction:
I like Davidson and the number in this spot. Senior Kellen Grady is for sure to have a bounce-back performance after putting up just six-point against the Bonnies his last time on the court. With this being his senior night at Belk Arena I expect him to put his team on his back and go out with a win in his final college basketball game at the Belk. I also think VCU is going to play on the side of caution and rest Bones Hyland because they already have clinched a double-bye in the A-10 tournament. The Wildcats should be effective at beating the VCU zone with all of their three-point shooters, so I lean with the Wildcats in this one.
