Vanderbilt Commodores
The Commodores suffered another loss this past weekend in what was basically their last non-conference game. They were beat by the SMU Mustangs by a score of 92-81 in overtime. This also snapped a short two-game winning streak.
Vanderbilt has the luxury of starting their SEC schedule on the road against the high ranked SEC team. Playing in Auburn is never an easy task and it will be even more of an uphill battle because of how they have been playing.
The Dores actually have been able to score the ball effectively this season, averaging 79.2 points per game. This gives them the 39th ranked scoring offense in the country. One thing they have done well is shoot the three. Averaging 38.3% from deep range gives them the 21st best long range attack.
Leading the way for Vanderbilt is Aaron Nesmith. He is averaging 23.4 points per game. The Commodores do not have many great scoring threats this season, so Nesmith is really going to have to carry the load.

While this makes the Tigers one of the most balanced teams, it also could cause some concern if one of the starters gets into foul trouble early.
The Tigers also pride themselves on playing great defense. They allow an average of 65.6 points per game. What is more impressive is they hold their opponents to 39.7% shooting from the field and 28.7% shooting from the three-point line.
Really the key in this game for the Tigers is slowing down Aaron Nesmith. If they do this, Vanderbilt is going to have a tough time coming up with an answer and the Tigers will roll to their 14th straight win.
