This Sunday match-up will see the Utah Utes take on the Colorado Buffaloes. Both teams already have one loss in the PAC-12 and will need a win to avoid falling in the standings. Although it is still early, every game matters in terms of conference seeding come tournament time.
Utah Utes
The Utes lost to a very good Oregon team last time they played, but kept this game very competitive. They lost by a score of 69-64 to drop their first conference game.
Despite some struggles against Oregon, the Utes still have a high powered offense. They average 78.3 points per game, which is the 44th best scoring offense in the country. Furthermore, they shoot the ball at an elite level, averaging 47.5% from the field.
They are led by Timmy Allen, who is averaging 21.1 points per game. Behind him is Both Gach, who averages 12.9 points per game. Allen had 19 against the Ducks and Gach had a team high 24. Other than these two guys, they had very little production, which is a huge concern when playing on the road.

With so many teams in division one basketball, it is hard to criticize a team because of their defensive rankings compared to the rest of the country. The Utes are allowing 69.3 points per game, yet rank 189th in scoring defense.
Teams shoot a very low 41.3% from the field against them and they still rank 132nd. The same thing can be said about their three-point defense. The Utes allow teams to shoot 31.6% and they rank 134th.
The one concern is they allow an average of 76.5 points per game on the road, so they will be tested by a top 25 team.
Colorado Buffaloes
The Buffaloes saw their five-game winning streak snapped when they were upset by Oregon State in their mid-week action. They are still technically ranked 25th, but that is more than likely to change when the new polls are released next week. Even a big win over Utah might not be enough to keep their top-25 status.
The offense has been stagnant at times this season as they average just 71.7 points per game. They could have a game where they score about 80+, or they can not even score 70. Only three different guys average in double figures this season, so we will need to see more production from the Colorado role players on Sunday.
Colorado has one of the better defensive teams this season, allowing just 61.9 points per game. This actually gives them the 39th best scoring defense in the country. Teams shoot 40% against them, so the key will be holding the Utes to below this number.
