The UCLA Bruins will be traveling to Eugene to take on the Ducks to decide the Pac-12 regular-season title with the Bruins currently holding a half-game lead over the Ducks for first place.
Oregon is coming off an 80-69 victory over Arizona over the weekend, while UCLA dropped a game up in Boulder to the CU Buff’s 70-61.
UCLA Bruins
UCLA comes into this game with just a half-game lead over the Ducks for first place after losing to Colorado over the weekend. The Bruins just couldn’t make shots down the stretch of the game and McKinley Wright willed Colorado to victory on his season night. If the Bruins can get the win over the Ducks tonight it will be a huge boost to their resume and most likely secure them the Pac-12 regular-season title.
The Bruins currently sit as a nine-seed in Jerry Palm’s Bracketology, an eight-seed in Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology, and as high as a seven-seed in Mike DeCourcy’s Bracketology.
Kentucky transfer Johnny Juzang leads the way for Mick Cronin’s, averaging 14.6 ppg on the season, including going for 25 points the last time out against the Buffalo’s. Losing Chris Smith who averaged 12.6 points per game to a knee injury for the season in early January has tested the Bruins’ depth, but in his absence, it has allowed Jaime Jaquez to step up and get more opportunities. Jaquez is up to 11.6 points per game on the season and is pulling down 6.1 boards per game.
Another thing to look out for is the Bruins’ advantage on the glass. While Oregon isn’t extraordinary at converting second-chance opportunities, UCLA’s pesky rebounding should keep the Ducks going one and out on most of the offensive possessions.
Oregon Ducks
Oregon is riding a three-game winning streak coming into this matchup with the Pac-12 leading Bruins. They are coming off their best win of the season over a strong Arizona team that would be able to make some noise if they were eligible for the tournament this season but sadly they are not.
Chris Duarte leads the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game and has a solid shot at being an All-American this season because he is balling. He dropped 22 points against the Wildcats on Monday night and continues to be a clutch scorer. Between Duarte and former Rutger Scarlet Knight Eugene Omoruyi chipping in 16.8 points per game, one member of the duo has led the Ducks in scoring in all but one of their 22 games this season. UCLA runs a guard-heavy lineup with Juzang and Campbell running the point, which Oregon can look to exploit with their length and interior size between Omoruyi and St. John’s transfer LJ Figueroa.
The Ducks are averaging 73.50 points per game this season which is ranked 123rd in the country. On average, they are shooting 46.00% from the floor and 36.38% from beyond the arc.
On the defensive side of the ball, Oregon gives up an average of 66.65 points per game which is 74th in the nation. Opponents are shooting just 42.38% from the floor and only 33.13% from three-point range.

Free UCLA Bruins vs. Oregon Ducks NCAAB Prediction:
I think that UCLA will have a bounce-back performance in this game after the loss to Colorado. They know they can sure up the Pac-12 title with a win here. I think Juzang matches up well with Duarte on the perimeter and UCLA should have the advantage on the glass as Oregon tends to sell out on the defensive end. Chris Riley is going to have to make a big impact inside the arc if the Bruins want to come out of Eugene with the victory. Give me the Bruins in a tight battle to decide the Pac-12 in Eugene.
