St. Joseph’s Hawks
St. Joe’s hasn’t been consistent through the first half of the season, and they’ve loss four of their last five games. Non-conference victories over Georgetown and Big 5 rival Temple show the Hawks can compete, but they’ve got to start separating themselves from the pack if they want to dance in March.
Jordan Hall is truly one of the most versatile players in the country, and his play will heavily effect the outcome of this game. The 6’7 swingman nailed eight threes and scored a career-high 33 points in the win Big 5 win over Penn, then followed it by dropping 26 points against Temple.

Taylor Funk chose to stay in Philly for a fifth-year, and it’s paying off for the Hawks. The 6’8 forward put up personal bests of 29 points and eight three points in the win over Georgetown, and he’s second on the team in scoring (13.8), while tying the team lead with 7.2 rpg.
Ejike Obinna was a big addition through the transfer portal, both figuratively and literally. The former Vanderbilt big double-doubled in the road win over Richmond, and his matchup with Makhel Mitchell will be one to watch.
Cameron Brown and Erik Reynolds II join the talented trio in the starting five, and they both had strong outing versus Richmond. Reynolds II scored a season-best 17 points, while Brown posted his first double-double of his career.

First-year head coach Kim English struck big in the transfer market, and they’ve meshed well early. The Patriots score a solid 72.6 ppg and shoot 46.2% from the field.
Josh Oduro has taken a third-year leap in Fairfax this season. The 6’9 forward scored 32 in the win over Navy and he leads the team in scoring with 17.4 ppg, while grabbing 6.8 rpg.
D’Shawn Schwartz, Devon Cooper, and Davonte Gaines have all come in and made an immediate impact for the Patriots. Schwartz and Gaines were previously coached by English at Colorado and Tennessee respectively.
