Siena Saints
Sports-Reference’s Simple Rating System (SRS), rates every team in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference below average. Rider (-0.8) and Rider (-1.9) are the two closest, though.
They are also atop the early conference standings. Siena is alone at 2–0 and Rider is 1–0 along with four other teams.

This will be the first time the Saints play a conference game on the road this season, though. Both of their wins have come at home, over Canisius and Monmouth, by one and three points, respectively.
Siena has four guys who score about eighty percent of their team’s points. Jalen Pickett (16.4 points per game), Elijah Burns (15.9 ppg), Donald Carey (14.4 ppg) and Manny Camper (12.5) also combine to average 10.2 of Siena’s 12.8 assists per game and 27.0 of its 39.7 rebounds.
All four guys are between 6’4” and 6’8” and can shoot the three well. Pickett has the worst rate at .365; Burns and Camper each shoot only about one per game but both make it over forty percent of the time.
Burns, the lone senior of the foursome, from Troy, also stands the tallest at 6’8”. Camper, a guard listed at just 6’6” is the big rebounder, however. He averages just shy of twelve full boards a game.
Rider Broncs
Head Coach Kevin Baggett served as an assistant for six different schools, including Rider, before being promoted in 2012. In seven full seasons at Rider, he hasn’t made an NCAA Tournament appearance.
He has finished Rider either first or second in the MAAC standings in each of the last two seasons, though, and has the favorite this season.
The Broncs have four guys themselves who have been a part of the previous two seasons’ success.
Tyere Marshall, a 6’9” center, and Stevie Jordan, a 6’ guard, are both seniors; Frederick Scott, a forward, and Dimencio Vaughn, a bigger guard, are both juniors. All four guys have averaged double-figures for three seasons now.
Four upperclassmen that have played together for a while now gives Rider the edge in the conference. Willy Nunez, a senior guard who has emerged to average close to eight points per game, offers a fifth option.
