The Saint Louis Billikens will look to get back to their winning ways after 76-53 drubbing by the Dayton Flyers. They will be traveling to Virginia to take on the VCU Rams who are currently tied for first place in the A-10.
The Rams are coming off a shocking loss to George Mason 79-76 after they lost Bones Hyland down to the stretch to a hand injury.
Saint Louis Billikens
Saint Louis saw their four-game winning streak come to a close after a gruesome 76-53 defeat by the Dayton Flyers this past weekend. The Billikens have been a very good team this season, but have struggled to stay consistent after coming out of a long COVID pause in January.
Javonte Perkins is the Billiken’s biggest scoring threat but only put up seven points in the loss to Dayton. The senior guard has scored at least 19 points in two out of his last three games and comes into this one averaging 17.1 points per game on 46.8% shooting from the floor. The Billiken’s second-leading scorer Jordan Goodwin has earned double-doubles in three of his last four games. The senior guard is having an amazing season, registering 14.6 PPG accompanied by 10.4 RPG.
Saint Louis averages 76.87 points per game this season which is 64th in the nation. They have struggled to score in conference player though only averaging 68.9 points per game which is 12th in the A-10.
They surrender an average of 64.40 points per game which is 44th in the country. Opponents are shooting 40.6% from the field when facing Saint Louis and 32.9% from beyond the arc.
VCU Rams
The Rams also saw their winning streak snapped with a home loss to George Mason over the weekend. They were 9.5 point favorites over the Patriots who got the job done 79-76 in overtime. These upcoming games are huge for VCU as they look to secure first place in the A10. They are tied with St. Bonaventure for first with a 9-3 record.
Nah’Shon Hyland continues to dominate but sadly for the Rams, he won’t be playing in this game. The talented sophomore guard has tallied at least 20 points in two out of his last three games. Hyland is third in the A10 with an average of 19.2 PPG on 44% shooting. Vince Williams Jr. has emerged as a key contribution to this VCU team. He has scored double-digits in three out of his last four contests. The junior forward boasts an average of 10.9 PPG and 5.2 RPG. Mike Rhoades is going to need Williams to carry to load for the team with Hyland out, let’s see if he can step up to the challenge.
The Rams are averaging 73.24 points per game this season, while they are shooting 45.35% from the floor and 33.57% from beyond the arc.
On the defensive side of the ball, VCU gives up an average of 65.24 points per game which is 54th in the nation. Opponents are shooting just 40.56% from the floor and only 29.37% from three-point range.

Free Saint Louis Billikens vs. VCU Rams NCAAB Prediction:
I love this spot for Saint Louis to get right against a vulnerable VCU team. The Billikens got embarrassed the last time on the court against Dayton and I’m sure they will want to seek revenge against the best team in the A-10. VCU lost their best player Bones Hyland down the stretch to an injury in the George Mason game and he is going to be out today. That’s huge for Saint Louis as Hyland is the facilitator in the VCU offense and the team’s leading scorer. I just think Saint Louis needs this win more after falling out of the bubble and VCU without their best player should struggle to get their offense going.
