Arguably the best game of the week in the Pac-12 takes place Thursday night as the Colorado Buffaloes travel to take on the Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Oregon.
Oregon is coming off a 63-61 win over the Arizona Wildcats. Colorado is coming off an ugly road loss against California.
Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks enter this contest with a 7-3 record in conference play after taking down both Arizona schools last week. Ugly losses at home to Washington State and Oregon State were quickly forgotten as the Ducks enter this game on a 3-game winning streak. Not to mention, they finally have a fully healthy roster for the first time this season.
Chris Duarte has been elite for the Ducks this season and has established himself as an NBA Draft prospect. The senior guard is averaging just under 17.5 points per game while shooting 45 percent from deep on five attempts a game.
Oregon is averaging 75.4 points per game and allowing 67 points a night. The Ducks take more 3’s than any team in the conference and convert 35.8 percent of them.
Eugene Omoruyi has been another great addition for the Ducks down low. The transfer forward averages 17.8 PPG, which leads the team, along with just under 6 rebounds a night. Eric Williams and L.J. Figueroa also post double digit point totals a game.
Oregon is 52nd in the nation in offensive efficiency and 62nd in defensive rating. Oregon holds a 79.5 percent to make the tournament according to Bart Torvik. A quality win over Colorado would certainly help those odds even more.
Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado enters this contest 10-5 in conference play. The Buffaloes are coming off their worst game of the season in a nine point road loss to California, the worst team in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes are 4th in the Pac-12 by win percentage, trailing first place USC by two games.
Colorado played its worst offensive game since their loss to Tennessee back on December 8 of last year against the Golden Bears. The Buffs shot just 3 of 15 from deep and scored just 62 points.
The Buffaloes average 74.9 points per game while surrendering 63.6 points a contest. The Buffs also have one of the more experienced teams in the country led by senior guard McKinley Wright. The two-time All-Pac-12 selection is leading the Buffaloes with 14.4 points per game on 48.1 percent shooting.
Colorado is a balanced team offensively, with eight different players averaging at least 5 points a night. Tulsa transfer Jeriah Horne is second on the team with 11.0 points a night, while fellow forward Evan Battey averages double figures in points as well.
Colorado is 14th in the nation in offensive rating and 33rdin the country in 3-point percentage. The Buffaloes are extremely efficient at the free throw line as well, knocking down a nation-leading 82.4 percent of their attempts at the line.
Colorado is 16th in the country according to Bart Torvik. The loss to Cal more than likely kept the Buffaloes out of the top 25, but they are still more than capable of making a deep run in this year’s tournament.

Free Oregon Ducks vs. Colorado Buffaloes NCAAB Prediction:
Five of Colorado’s six losses this year have come at home, and I expect a healthy and rejuvenated Ducks team to come out and win here. Colorado will certainly come out hungry in this one following a tough loss, but the Ducks are heating up at the right time and will pick up in number four in a row.
