The tenth ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders will play host to the 24th ranked Oklahoma Sooners Monday night in what should be an exciting primetime matchup.
The Red Raiders were able to survive a late game scare Saturday against a tough LSU matchup thanks to a late game rally. Oklahoma just earned a major upset win over Alabama, which was their third consecutive victory against a top-10 opponent.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
After falling by one point to conference foe West Virginia, the Red Raiders rallied to defeat LSU in the Big 12-SEC challenge. The Red Raiders enter this contest 4-4 in conference as they have dropped games to Oklahoma State, Kansas, Baylor and the Mountaineers. Their offense played effectively against LSU, with Mac McClung and Terrence Shannon Jr., leading the way.
Texas Tech is sixth in the Big 12. They have the 28th best offense and 12th best defense in the nation. The Red Raiders average 75.5 points per game while allowing only 62.2 a contest.
Mac McClung has had yet another impressive season after transferring from Georgetown. The junior guard leads the team with 17.5 PPG while Shannon adds in 13.5 PPG and 5.5 RPG.
Texas Tech is in the top-10 in the country in forcing turnovers, which should give them an edge over the Sooners. The Red Raiders also crash the offensive glass frequently, while the Sooners are outside the top-100 in defensive rebounding.
Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners have been red hot of late, taking down several top-25 teams to improve to an 11-4 record. The Sooners’ most recent victory came against the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide, beating Nate Oats’ squad by five to improve to five straight wins.
What’s more impressive is that the Sooners won without Austin Reaves and Alondes Williams due to COVID. They are not expected to be back for this game.
De’Vion Harmon continued to impress against the Crimson Tide Saturday. Harmon had 18 points and alleviated the absence of Austin Reaves.
Lon Kruger’s bunch is averaging 77 points per game while surrendering 67 points per game. The Sooners have the 21st best defense and send their opponents to the free throw line at the 10th lowest rate in the nation.
Betting Trends:
- Red Raiders are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
