After being blown out on Wednesday by an unranked Ole Miss squad, Missouri (13-4, 6-4 SEC) will have a quick turnaround against a familiar opponent. The No. 10 Tigers host Arkansas at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
This will be the second time the teams have faced off this season, with Missouri winning the first matchup 81-68 on Jan. 2 and looking for a season series sweep.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas is coming off two consecutive victories after taking down Mississippi State and Kentucky. The Razorbacks are 7-4 in conference play and in need of a signature victory before the NCAA Tournament.
The Razorbacks will have Justin Smith back in the lineup this time around, which should make a big difference. He is the team’s leading rebounder with 6.5 boards per game. Offensively, he’s been more efficient since returning from injury.
Arkansas leads the SEC in points per game with 82.7, which is 12th best nationally. Freshman guard Moses Moody leads the way for this team and has been as good as advertised after coming in from prestigious Montverde Academy.
Moody is an elite shooter who is lethal either spotting up or coming off screens. Moody, who is expected to be a first-round pick in the NBA Draft this year, leads the Razorbacks in scoring (16.3).
Also producing for the Razorbacks are point guard Jalen Tate and center Connor Vanover. The two transfer do a goo job of playmaking and rebounding, respectively. Tate leads the team with 4.5 APG, while Vanover is third in the SEC in blocks and can hit an occasional three.
Missouri Tigers
Missouri showed Wednesday that they have been playing to their competition as well as down to it. With the loss against Ole Miss, three of the Tigers’ four losses this year have come to unranked opponents on the road.
The Tigers came out flat Wednesday from the opening tip, falling 80-59 to the Rebels.
The Tigers shot a season-worst 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from the free throw line Wednesday. The five makes were a season low. Missouri is at its best when it can get to the line, and they are usually an excellent free throw shooting team. Missouri will look to repeat their performance from the line the last time they played Arkansas. Last time out against the Razorbacks, the Tigers shot a season high 39 free throws and made 28.
Seniors Jeremiah Tilmon, Dru Smith, Xavier Pinson, Mark Smith and Kobe Brown have combined to over three quarters of the team’s points this season. The Tigers look to avoid back-to-back home losses for the first time this year.
Missouri also had only 15 rebounds Wednesday, their worst mark of the season. With how good this team has been, I expect the Tigers to quickly bounce back from this loss.

Free Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Missouri Tigers NCAAB Prediction:
Missouri has done well this season in big games, and that trend should continue on Saturday. I expect this Missouri defense to bounce back after giving up far too may easy shots against Ole Miss. Missouri should win the battle on the boards as well, and given that the Tigers have very good at home this year and Arkansas is 2-4 on the road, I expect the Tigers to prevail.
