The Minnesota Golden Gophers will travel and take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers this Wednesday night.
Minnesota is slighty favored by two on the road here.
Minnesota Golden Gophers
Minnesota jumped out to a commanding 10-1 start to begin the season, but they’ve hit a wall with Big Ten play. The Golden Gophers have just two conference wins in eleven tries , and they’ve lost both games this month by double figures.
George Washington transfer Jamison Battle came home and led Minnesota to one of their best starts in school history. The 6’7 forward is coming off of his worse outing of the season at Iowa, but he’s leading the team in scoring (16.9), while grabbing 6.3 rpg.
Payton Willis transferred back to Minneapolis, and he’s been solid from the lead guard spot. The 6’4 guard had a great against Purdue, scoring 24 points, while dishing out 10 assists. He posting strong averages of 16.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and a team-leading 4.3 apg.
Lafayette transfer Elijah Stevens has had a few big games this season, and he’s the team’s third leading scorer at 11.2 ppg.
Eric Curry, the longest tenured Golden Gopher, starts up front with Battle. The 6’9 senior scores 8.3 ppg and grabs a team-leading 6.6 rpg.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
It’s been equally abysmal for Nebraska this season. The Cornhuskers have lost all twelve of their Big Ten games so far this season, but they’ve quietly covered in four of their last five games.
Freshman Bryce McGowens has been the Cornhuskers most consistent player this season. The 6’7 guard has scored 20 or more in four of the last five games, and he’ll likely have his name called at draft this summer.
This may be one of McGowens last games at Pinnacle Bank, so he could be in for another big performance. He leads Nebraska with 16.7 ppg, while grabbing 5.4 rpg.
Alonzo Verge Jr. is second on the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg, but the Arizona State transfer has struggled since Big Ten play began.
Derrick Walker has improved a lot after transferring in from Tennessee. The 6’9 junior leads the team in rebounding (5.7) and he’s third in scoring (9.3).
CBB Betting Trends:
- MINN is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 road games.
- NEB is 3-7 in their last 10 home games.
- Over is 7-2 in Cornhuskers last 9 games.
Free Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers NCAAB Prediction: Illinois to Cover
The two worse teams in the Big Ten will collide tonight and one team’s sorrows will come to a halt.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Illinois -12.5
Nebraska has one game to win this season, and this is that spot. This team hasn’t been as frustrating as the football program, as they’ve covered in four of their last five, and I feel like they reward loyal Huskers bettors again here with a small victory.
Take Nebraska’s ML tonight.
