Because conference play started early in the ACC this season, this will be the fourth conference game for both sides. This game will be played on Tuesday night and will be televised on ESPN2.
Miami Hurricanes
The Hurricanes got demolished by Duke this past Saturday to drop to 1-2 in the conference. The final score was not even close in this one as the Blue Devils won 95-62. This loss ended a five-game win streak for the Hurricanes so they will be looking to get back on track.
The Hurricanes were basically shut down offensively, but overall on the season they average 74.4 points per game. They are a top 30 team at shooting the three, averaging 37.9%.
A big reason for the blowout loss to Duke was because their leading scorer had a down game. Chris Lykes averages 15.3, but had just 8 points on Saturday. In just three road games, Lykes is averaging 22 points per game, so that is a very good sign that he will be able to have a bounce back game.

Defense has been a problem for this Hurricanes team. However, they played Duke in their last game, so going against Louisville is probably going to give them a chance to keep this game somewhat close.
The Hurricanes are allowing 73.1 points per game. This does not rank well at all compared to the rest of the country. Although one thing they have going for them is being on the road. Their opponent’s scoring average is down slightly to 72.3. They have won all three of their road games, so I do believe they can have success against this Louisville team.
Louisville Cardinals
The Cardinals showed us their struggles when they lost at home to the Seminoles this past Saturday. The final to this game was 78-65 and the Cardinals looked like they were out of it for most of the contest.
They have now lost two in a row and at the moment, do not look like a team that could make a title run. Given a few of their recent performances, it is hard to believe that this team was ranked #1 in the country at one point.
This Cardinals team is averaging 75.4 points per game, but recently they have really struggled to score. Jordan Nwora is doing everything for this team and is averaging 21 points per game. Against Florida State, he scored 32 and the rest of the team scored 33.
Overall the Cardinals have a top 30 scoring defense. Again, the last two games they have allowed 78 points in each and are not playing with the same intensity. If they fail to slow down Lykes, they will be in for another rough night.
