The Kansas Jayhawks will be on the road to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday, January 8th.
The tip-off is set for 4:00 ET from United Supermarkets Arena.
The Jayhawks opened up as a 4.5 point favorite and that number is now up to 5. The total has gone from 139.5 to 140.
Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas has played very well this year. It is no surprise that they are the #6 team in the nation.
The Jayhawks picked up a win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Tuesday by a score of 74-63. The task will be much tougher for them on Saturday when they face off with this solid team in the Red Raiders.
I am sure they would love to get their loss against Dayton back, but besides that, these guys have taken care of everyone else they have faced. So far, there is not much to complain about with the way they have played as they have done pretty much everything someone could ask out of them.
In the win over the Cowboys, the leading scorer for this group was David McCormack, who had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Christian Braun also contributed 15 points, 6 dimes, and 6 boards. It was good to see them have a balanced scoring attack.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Similar to their conference rival, Kansas, Texas Tech has also had a productive season so far. As of now, they are ranked number 25 in the nation and that would certainly improve if they could find a way to knock off the Jayhawks.
The Red Raiders come into this ball game with an impressive record of 10-3. Thus far, they have not played the most difficult schedule, but they have done what they have had to against the majority of their opposition. With that, they will be in for their biggest challenge of the year on Saturday when they face their conference rival.
They dropped a low-scoring affair to the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday by a score of 51-47. They will once again get a chance to play a ranked opponent when they face off with Kansas.
It is hard to believe that they lost their last game, as they allowed so few points, but when you score only 47, it is not very often you will win ball games. The offense needs to be much better on Saturday or Kansas will have their way with them.
CBB Betting Trends:

- Kansas is 18-2 SU in their last 20 games against Texas Tech.

- Texas Tech is 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games played in January.
- Texas Tech is 10-3 SU in their last 13 games.
- The total has gone over in 7 of Texas Tech’s last 10 games against Kansas.
Free Kansas Jayhawks vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders NCAAB Summary:
Two top-25 teams from the Big 12 squaring off? Oh yeah, I am in on that one.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Texas Tech ATS
Although Oklahoma State is not a great team, Kansas did just prove that they can head on the road and beat someone in a tough environment. They will once again have to prove that on Saturday when they head to United Supermarkets Arena.
If Texas Tech wants to be put in that top tier of teams in college hoops, winning against the Jayhawks would be a good start, but it certainly will be no easy task. They will have to play a much more complete basketball game than they did in their last showing.
Listen, I know that the Jayhawks have been very good against the spread when going against Texas Tech as of late, but I do not think that will be the case on Saturday. The Red Raiders are a good team and they have the ability to keep up with Kansas. They may not win, but I like them to keep this thing close at home.
My play is on the Red Raiders getting the 5 points here.
