The Harvard Crimson will head to Rhode Island and take on the Brown Bears for an Ivy League contest this Friday. Brown won the first meeting in Boston last month, 84-73.
Harvard should be favored to win the road here.
Harvard Crimson
Harvard sits in unfamiliar territory as of recent years, as their currently 2-3 in Ivy League play. The Crimson loss by four to Penn last time out at home, and they’ll need to figure things out with a back-to-back with Yale looming.
Tommy Amaker’s team plays an efficient game, and they score a solid 74.8 points per game.
Noah Kirkwood leads the attack, but he needs more support. After scoring 28 points in the win over Columbia, the 6’7 guard scored 24 points in the one-point win over Dartmouth. His 27 points against Penn weren’t enough, but Kirkwood leads the Crimson in scoring with 17.5 ppg, while grabbing 5.8 rpg, and dishing out 3.3 apg.
Luka Sakota joins him in the backcourt, and the junior guard has hit three or more three in each of his past four games.
The absence of Chris Ledlum has hindered this unit immediately. Harvard is 2-2 in his absence, with one of those wins coming by a point against a 5-12 Dartmouth team. Ledlum was averaging 16.7 ppg and 9.3 rpg, and his production nor impact will likely be replaced.
Amaker has gone with smaller lineups, leaving 6’6 Kale Catchings to man the middle, who averages 8.9 ppg and 3.8 rpg.
Idan Tretout has scored in double figures in four of the last five games.
Brown Bears
Brown got off to an encouraging 8-4 stat, but they’ve hit a wall since the start of conference play. They’ve dropped eight of their last ten games, but four of their five conference losses have come by four points or less.
Tamenah Choh has been in a groove offensively, and he’ll look to carry the Bears through another 40 minutes. The 6’5 senior plays well beyond his size, and he scored 20 points or more in six of his last eight games. He scored a season-high 30 points in the three-point loss to Yale, and he scored 20 points in the first meeting with Harvard.
Choh leads the Crimson in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (8.1).
Kino Lilly Jr. has settled in well during his freshman season, and he’s turned in up in conference play. He scored a career-high 25 points against Ivy League leaders Princeton, and he scored 23 points in the first meeting with the Crimson.
Paxson Wojcik has come from Loyola Chicago and brought some range to the lineup. He’s third on the team in scoring (10.4) and he’s hit seven threes over the past two games.
Jaylan Gainey joins Choh up front, and the 6’9 senior is posting a steady 7.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 1.9 bpg.
CBB Betting Trends:
- Harvard is 6-4 ATS in their last 10 Ivy League games.
- Brown is 5-5 ATS in their last 10 Ivy League games.
- Over is 6-2 in the Brown’s last 8 games vs. a team with a record above .500.

4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Harvard -6.5
Considering Brown already beat them in the first meeting, a win here is more than possible. When you also consider how close the Bears’ conference losses have been, their spread sounds like a nice spot on a light slate. Both have potential, and how Harvard handles their size will determine which one cashes.
Take Brown’s spread at home for this one, and give their grand moneyline a look.
