Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Chalk held on the first day at the eleventh annual Diamond Head Classic. Georgia Tech couldn’t reverse that trend on day two when it fell by eleven as an eight-point underdog to Houston, 70–59.

Michael Devoe and Moses Wright, Georgia Tech’s two leading scorers, combined for thirty-six points but the bench didn’t score for Josh Pastner, who went with just a seven-man rotation.
The Yellow Jackets didn’t have an answer for Quentin Grimes, who went for twenty-six points to lead Houston.
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors
Hawaii couldn’t avoid the chalk trap on Monday either and fell to a superior Washington team, 72–61.
Eddie Stansberry, a 6’3″ senior guard, came into the game as Hawaii’s leading scorer at 18.5 points per game but he was confounded by Mike Hopkins’ zone, which looks better than Jim Boeheim’s in this his third season as the head coach of the Huskies.
Stansberry finished with a season-low five points. If it weren’t for freshman Justin Webster, a guard who was averaging just over five points per game coming into the game, scoring sixteen off the bench, Hawaii wouldn’t have come as close as it did to covering.
As it happened, the Rainbow Warriors weren’t particularly close, even with Webster’s new career-high. They were only catching 6.5 points and went into the half down fifteen. Washington’s defense relaxed a bit with the big lead but the Huskies never really felt threatened in the second.

Free Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors NCAAB Prediction: it stays low and close throughout.
Georgia Tech was focused against Houston but it just ran into a better team. The Yellow Jackets appear focused and should give a good effort in this game.
If they do, this will be a defensive-minded game played down in the sixties. Then again, such isn’t necessarily commonplace in third-place games.
But this matchup has a different sort of feel, if Tech is determined to leave the Island 2–1 and with a podium finish.
Of course, the holiday schedule is an x-factor here.
